Story
Hi there! My name is Brittany! Though I am in foster care right now, I am looking for a new foster or a furever home to help me branch out away from my mom and siblings. (send an email to info@smallbreedrescue.org if you are interested in fostering me) I’m a happy-go-lucky, carefree, and cheerful companion who is tough on the outside but a teddy bear on the inside. What thrills me most in life is sharing my love with those around me, whether you’re big, small, old, or young. I’m an equal-opportunity companion! Affection is my middle name, and I can’t think of anything better than getting love and attention from my family. I’m outgoing and friendly, and you’ll often find me lying in your cozy lap, content and happy. My favorite toys are squeaky ones and those that help me with my teething. I love every treat I’ve tried and enjoy playing chase and getting cuddles. My foster family is helping me learn manners or what we call Petiquette and how to be calm. Sometimes I have trouble controlling my excitement and impulses, but I’m learning. I like to take my time approaching new situations. While I’m a bit shy with new faces and places, I warm up as I become more familiar with my environment. I know sit, stay, come, off, down, wait, and walk on a leash with a harness. I am crate-trained and, although I whine at first, I settle down pretty quickly. I’m learning to be potty trained and do well when I am reminded to go outside. I still need some help with my manners and would do well with some additional positive reinforcement training. Exercise keeps me happy and content. Without it, I can get a little worked up. I do best when I have had a chance to get my energy out so that I can be calm later. Going for walks, engaging in play, and doing outdoor activities with my new family daily would make me very happy! I was found living under a shed on a very large, secluded property with my siblings and mom and boy have I come a long way! If you think we may be a good match or would like to get to know me better, please click the Adoption Application button below my bio on the rescue website, here is the link - https://www.smallbreedrescue.org/Home/AnimalDetails/12526 Please note - Due to home introductions that are part of the adoption process, we can only accept applications for interested parties who are in or near North County San Diego County, California, at this time.

Story
Meet Snow Bella – A Gentle Soul Seeking her Forever Home Snow Bella is currently in foster care, looking for a forever home where she can begin to bond with her family. Though a bit shy and reserved, Snow Bella is a calm, gentle companion who bonds deeply with her people and loves spending time with her goat friends. If another animal ventures too close to them, she quickly springs into action to keep them safe! Bella has just begun meeting the other dogs in her foster family. With a gentle, watchful nature, she’s learning to feel comfortable around new friends and environments at her own pace. While she hasn't yet tried to play with the big dog she’s met, she’s curious and open to learning. Though cautious at first, she loves attention from people she trusts and absolutely adores belly and ear rubs! Recently, Snow Bella has discovered the joy of chew toys and enjoys zooming around. She’s not a fan of bland dog treats but lights up for meaty ones. She’s always gentle and calm, and even when scared, has never shown any signs of aggression. Snow Bella is crate-shy and prefers spending her time outdoors, where she can roam and watch over her surroundings. She’s happiest in a space with plenty of room to explore, especially since she was found with her puppies under a shed on a large, quiet property. However, she is also a wonderful housemate, with perfect manners and no accidents indoors. Snow Bella’s foster family is helping her learn basic commands like "stay" and "come," and she’s adapting well to walking on a leash. She stays close, content to follow her person as they lead. Exercise is essential to her well-being, so an active, spacious home where she can thrive is her dream. If you think Snow Bella could be the perfect fit for your family,, please click the Adoption Application button below my bio on the rescue website, here is the link - https://www.smallbreedrescue.org/Home/AnimalDetails/12521 Please note - Due to home introductions that are part of the adoption process, we can only accept applications for interested parties who are in or near North County San Diego County, California, at this time.

Story
Meet Bailey n Cream: Your Favorite Adventure Buddy! Bailey may be the smallest of her siblings, but don’t let her size fool you—this 6-month-old husky mix is bursting with love, energy, and personality! Found as a newborn with her mom and siblings in a field, Bailey’s journey has led her to us (even though we normally work with tiny dogs). And now, she's ready to find her forever family! Bailey loves to play, whether it's with her favorite toys, on a walk, or just hanging out with her people. She’s eager to please and already showing off her skills—she’s mastered “sit” like a champ! Bailey would thrive in a home with another dog who matches her happy-go-lucky spirit, and she’d love someone who's around often to keep her company (and give her all the cuddles, of course). Whether it’s a car ride, a walk, or just lounging around, Bailey is ready to be your playful, loving, pint-sized companion. Could she be your new best friend? 🐾 If you think we may be a good match or would like to get to know me better, please click the Adoption Application button below the bio on the rescue website, here is the link - https://www.smallbreedrescue.org/Home/AnimalDetails/12523, and you will be contacted by one of our adoption counselors! Story
Meet Brandi Wine: Your Favorite Socialite Companion! Are you looking for a laid-back, medium-sized pup who loves life (and naps)? Brandi’s your girl (and she's better than fine wine)! This 6-month-old husky mix was found with her mom and siblings in a field, rescued, and then sent to us—even though we usually work with tiny dogs. But when you meet Brandi, you’ll see why we made an exception. Those soft, loving eyes! Irresistible. And that easygoing vibe! Perfect for anyone looking for a cuddle buddy who also loves a good play session and to hit the social circuit. Brandi’s got her priorities straight: she’s all about routine, companionship, and snacks. She loves car rides, walks, and chilling with her people. She’d thrive in a home with another dog who shares her relaxed but playful energy—and a human who’s around most of the time to spoil her with love and belly rubs. So if you're looking for a pup who's equal parts playful and chill, Brandi’s here, ready to make your life 100% better (and cuter). Adopt Brandi, and prepare for a lifetime of cuddles, walks, and the ultimate chill social life! 🐾 If you think we may be a good match or would like to get to know me better, please click the Adoption Application button below the bio on the rescue website, here is the link - https://www.smallbreedrescue.org/Home/AnimalDetails/12522, and you will be contacted by one of our adoption counselors! Story
How this pet arrived: Chappell was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on August 4th, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Chappell, a fun-loving girl with a big personality! Chappell is all about her people and absolutely adores pets, treats and chasing after tennis balls. She's a smart girl who knows how to "sit" and "lay down", walks well on leash and is food motivated. Her missing eye doesn't slow her down - and we think it makes her even more endearing! This cutie is happiest when she's the center of your attention, so she's looking for a home where she can be the only pet - no other furry friends, please! Chappell prefers to keep her adventures one-on-one with her favorite humans, so she isn't a candidate for off-leash venues or dog parks. Whether it's playing fetch or snuggling up for some quality time, Chappell is ready to be your loyal and loving companion! If you're looking for a new best friend who's sure to brighten your days, come by our Oceanside Campus and meet Chappell today! Story
How this pet arrived: Roan was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on August 4, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:How can you resist those eyes? Meet Roan, an adorable young adult Husky with a zest for adventure! He enjoys long walks, is well behaved on leash and loves exploring, making him a great companion for outdoor activities. He also knows some basic commands, and would likely enjoy learning new ones - especially if yummy treats are involved! Roan is eager for adventure, so we wouldn't recommend any unsupervised time outside, even in a fenced yard. He loves attention and gravitates towards people, eager for pets and cuddles. He arrived with another dog but can be a bit selective about new canine friends, so please bring any resident dogs for a supervised meet-and-greet before adopting. If you're looking for an energetic pup to brighten your life, come by our Oceanside Campus and meet Roan today! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 61.8 Age: 1yrs 10mths 2wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Rocky Road was brought in by his previous owner on November 6, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Rocky Road, a fluffy, handsome guy who has a lot of love to give-but on his own terms. With the right people, he can be a warm and fuzzy cuddle bug, but he needs time to build trust. Rocky Road has mixed feelings around other dogs and tends to guard what's important to him, so he would do best as the only dog in the home. He can be particular about handling and thus his ideal home has kids aged 10 and up that can respect his need for space. He's already getting the hang of walking on a leash without pulling and potty training! Rocky Road has already bonded with some people here and is ready to find his new family. Ready to meet him? Bring a leash, collar, and take him home today! Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 80.6 Age: 4yrs 7mths 2wks
