Sex: FemaleBreed: Husky xEstimated Date of Birth : 10/16/2022Are you looking for cute, bubbly and fun? Then sweet Gretel is definitely the one! She’s an adorable ball of enthusiasm and loves playtime just as much as she loves every once of affection people bring. She wears a permanent smile on her face and would love nothing more than a family willing to commit to her for a lifetime. We want to make that happen so this sweet girl is headed into Pawsitive Change at Tehachapi State Prison! Sadly Gretel and her brother Hansel came to us as unwanted dogs. Both tied unceremoniously to  the sign at our rescue ranch’s entrance after hours. They were lucky they didn’t break free, get hit by a car or get eaten by wildlife. We can’t imagine how scared they must have been or how betrayed they must have felt being dumped in such a heartless fashion. We’ve committed ourselves to ensuring both Gretel and her brother never experience something like that again. Gretel was never exposed to much before her time in our care but we’re making up for lost time and socializing this sweet girl with the sights and sounds of life. She’s young and lapping it all up. Our ranches wide open spaces allow for lots of socialization and playtime opportunities and Gretel loves all the play and running around. Pawsitive Change will give her another opportunity to learn and grow. She’ll spend the next 3 months learning all she can and once she’s completed the program she’ll be adoption ready. We can’t wait to find her the perfect home! If you are interested in adopting a Marley's Mutts please fill out an application at http://marleysmutts.org/adoptionprocess/

Story
Sex: FemaleBreed: Husky xEstimated Date of Birth : 10/15/2021Ginny and Luna the sweetest of sisters they love every human they’ve ever met. Their double happy energy is infectious and you’ll fall for them the moment you meet. It’s hard not to be drawn to their affectionate vibrant spirits. And maybe that’s what saved them. Happy, good dogs deserve a life outside of the shelter and these two had amazing guardian angels working hard to make sure they got out! These sweet sisters were found at an abandoned construction site and brought to the shelter, where they waited and waited with no interest. Through the shelters Streets of Bakersfield program, Jeff and Julie met them during a doggy day out. The girls charmed them instantly. Their gentle nature and bond were impossible to forget. Just a few days later Ginny and Luna came down with a doggy cold and were suddenly placed on the euthanasia list. Jeff and Julie knew in their hearts that this could not be the end of their story. Jeff reached out to us right away and shared who these girls truly are. Loving. Kind. Worth saving. We thankfully had room and Ginny and Luna were given their chance at freedom.Ginny and Luna are now with us, healthy, loved, and ready for the forever family who will adore them the way they deserve. Sweet affectionate sisters so thankful for their 2nd chance. Both girls are amazing with each other but very insecure and nervous around dogs they don’t know. They are ready to find their perfect homes so apply to meet Ginny, Luna or both we’d love to see these sisters find their home together. Story
Sex: FemaleBreed: HuskyEstimated Date of Birth : 10/02/2024When beauty meets mystique you get the stunning Wednesday! She is the sweetest soul with a quiet and calm presence you wouldn’t expect from a young husky blend. She is incredibly smart, already knows how to sit and shake, and walks on a leash like she studied for it. She is dog friendly, polite, and believes barking is optional… so she graciously opts out. We often find her calmly lounging in her kennel like a tiny zen master. She really is an incredible dog and we are shocked such an amazing girl lingered in our county shelter with no interest. Wednesday was picked up as a stray in the small farming community of Wasco, Ca. No one was looking for her although she’d obviously had tons of training and she sat at the shelter as potential adopters passed her by. Maybe they were worried a husky would be too hard but what they missed out on was an easy going girl who already had a solid foundation and just needed a new family to love. Their loss was our gain and we got Wednesday out and to the safety of our rescue ranch. Wednesday had embraced rescue life fully. She is patient, curious, gentle, and loves to learn. All those things are exactly why she was chosen for our Pawsitive Change program at Tehachapi State prison. For the next six weeks she will be polishing her already impressive skills and probably becoming the valedictorian of good girls.By the time she graduates she will be more than ready for her forever home. If Wednesday sounds like your kind of brilliant sweetheart, she cannot wait to meet you. Apply today! Story
Sex: MaleBreed: Siberian HuskyEstimated Date of Birth : 09/29/2023An incredible boy who doesn’t let his differences define who he is or what he can do meet Rune! He may not be able to see the world but he feels it with his whole heart! He’s stunning, loving and he’s completely blind. But don’t let his blindness deter you. Blind dogs navigate the world with all their other senses and almost all blind dogs thrive when given a chance. Rune is no exception! He can do everything his less visually impaired friends can do and maybe even do it better. We hope you see this beautiful boy for the amazing dog he is and give him the chance at the forever home he deserves. We have a feeling you’ll love him just as much as we do. Unbelievably Rune was found wandering the streets of Oildale alone. He was so incredibly lucky he wasn’t hit by a car and even luckier a Good Samaritan picked him up and took him to the shelter. That Good Samaritan likely saved his life! Rune waited at the shelter for a month. His owners never claimed him and adopters passed him by. No one wanted a dog that was a little different. And Runes differences almost cost him his life. But we know how amazing blind dogs can be and so Rune got his chance and headed to our rescue ranch. Although he can’t see Rune has never looked back. He embraces wherever life takes him and has quickly become a staff favorite. He’s already learned the layout of his areas at our ranch and his adjustment was speedy quick! Rune is super affectionate and dog friendly. He’s ready to find a home that understands his visual differences don’t hinder him and will give him the amazing home he’s never had!
