Story
My name is Harley! I was rescued a day before I was set to be put down at the Chatsworth pound! The volunteers had nothing but good things to say about me. At 11 years young, I’ve been told by everyone that I’m a sweet and goofy guy with some bursts of energy. I really enjoy being around people. I love chilling in the backyard and love my short walks and I’m great on leash. I don’t think cats like me but I do enjoy hanging with other mellow dogs! Everyone tells me I’m an easy dog and I just need a soft place to land. Please give me a chance. I have lots of love to give. [Harley is 11 years old and weighs 50 lbs.] If you'd like to meet Harley, please contact Tee: (323) 420-9456 or tee@thatsitmommy.com Note: This is a courtesy posting for our fellow rescuer, which means that even though this animal does not belong to our group, we are here to help those who need to find a home for their animals. We are merely helping them gain exposure on the Internet by serving as a conduit to make the initial contact with the potential homes, and we are not responsible for the content of this post. Story
Hi! I'm the perfect Husky for those who don't want a husky Husky. I'm small and slender, and I have lots of energy. The folks at Forte saved me from the pound after my previous “owner,” who failed to be my guardian, dumped me on his way out of town. He let Forte folks know, and they kept an eye on me and when they found a foster home, they bailed me out. Things I love — My foster Mom and Dad, playing with my toys at home and with my doggie friends at the dog park, taking nice walks, eating, chasing squirrels. Things I’m not comfortable with — People I don’t know very well, children, people coming to our house (as you can guess, I’m very protective). My foster Mom and Dad are working with a trainer to help me feel better about strangers. I have so much love to give and will be your best friend if you give me a chance. Come meet me at the adoption events, fall in love with me, and adopt me! If you are interested in meeting Aurora, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. [Aurora is about 1 year old and weighs 39 lbs.] (2407)

Story
Hi, I’m Canelo—a loyal sidekick in the making. My perfect day includes a car ride with the windows cracked just enough to sniff the breeze, a stuffed toy to carry around, and a cozy spot right next to you. I might take a little time to get to know new people, but once I do, my affection is deep and lasting. I also love playing with other dogs, so I’d be thrilled to have a canine buddy. When my “owner” (someone who failed to be my guardian) was planning to abandon me at the pound, a kind foster mom stepped in and brought me to Forte. Now I’m searching for someone who will never give up on me—someone I can love for life. If you are interested in meeting Canelo, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. [Canelo is 9 months old and weighs 50 lbs.] (2506)

Duke is particular about his food, eating modestly, and prefers naps both indoors and outdoors. His favorite activity is walking, and he requires a confident handler, especially in unfamiliar environments. Although he is not fond of car travel, he readily enters vehicles for trips to the park or other destinations. Story
I was abandoned in the desert when a nice woman found me and took me with her to Los Angeles. Sadly, her dog didn’t like me so she found another woman to take care of me and I’ve been there for 5 months getting great food and lots of belly rubs. I had to learn how to walk upstairs and not chew on her things. I don’t do that anymore as my new mom gives me good bones and bully sticks to chew. I totally understand commands like sit and stay when treats are involved. I enjoy long walks around the neighborhood and at the beach. I believe I have an easy-going personality. I hardly ever bark and rarely make any sounds — maybe a whine if I want to get out to play. I also get along fine with other dogs most the time. I sound great, right? Meet me and you will see firsthand how perfect I am! If you are interested in meeting Mabel, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. [Mabel is 1 year old and weighs 48 lbs.] (2512)
