Story
Calm and loving, Pluto found himself at the shelter through no fault of his own.Getting used to shelter life is hard when you`ve lived in a home, but he has made incredible progress quickly. His desire for human connection--as well as for tasty treats--has helped him along for sure. He`s been on a couple day outings with community members who have nothing but great things to say about him and his caregivers here at the shelter also make Pluto a `fan favorite`. He has been in a longer term fosterwith one of our volunteers who shares he is the perfect houseguest, loveseveryone and is so friendly he would make a good `shop dog` for a localbusiness.Handsome, young and houstrained, Pluto will make a great addition to a lucky family.

Story
Hi! My name is Timber and I’m at the Santa Barbara Campus. I’m a 1 year old male Husky mix who is eager for a new home! I've been told that i'm quite a fun size and compacted for my breed. I would benefit from a quiet to active household that enjoys going on daily walks or hikes and will work with me on building more of my confidence- I can be timid but warm up quickly with treats! I was found wandering where a lovely family picked me up and brought me somewhere safe. They shared I adjusted quickly into their household but they were not able to keep me. Interested in meeting me? Adoption Centers are open daily 12-4:30pm, closed Wednesdays. Adoptions are on a first-come first served basis. For more information please email Adopt@SBHumane.org or call 805-964-4777. When I am adopted, I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adopters will receive a certificate for a free veterinary exam and our partners at Purina will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home.

Story
MEET TENOR & BASS! This happy and loving duo has waited much too long for a home. They are a loving, fun pair of playful dogs who need a foster or forever home! They are very affectionate toward people, and love, love, love each other. They are likely brothers, who found themselves at a crowded California shelter with no adoption interest. Fortunately they were rescued but still haven't found a home yet. They must be adopted together as they are extremely bonded. Both are almost 7 years old. Bass, the brown-and-white pup, weighs only 55 lbs., and Tenor (tan and white) weighs about 60 lbs. They are fun, active pups who love to run, play and snuggle. They would love to be adopted by someone who could take them on hikes, walks and other outings. They currently play with each other for entertainment but it'd be great for them to branch out and see the world. Bass & Tenor love to jump up and give kisses. They are not super friendly with other dogs, so should be the only dogs in the home - but they have plenty of love to give and will be grateful to whomever adopts them. If you can foster or adopt Bass & Tenor, please email for an application.
