Story
Appa is a loving Siberian Husky. He just celebrated his second birthday in July. I purchased Appa from a litter in August of 2022. His mom and dad were show dogs, and his siblings all look just like him. It breaks my heart to have to rehome Appa, but at the age of 24 with all of the working and traveling I do, Appa does not get the attention he needs. I just moved into a small one bedroom apartment in SF and spend 8+ hours away each day. When I get home, i'm exhausted and poor Appa just wants to run around. He deserves a home where he can do that throughout the day in a backyard or just someone who works from home and can give hime the attention he needs. I am also constantly traveling, and have spent thousands of dollars boarding him that I can no longer afford. He is such a good boy- just a bratty personality like all huskies. I'm hoping I can rehome him local in the Bay Area so I can still visit him from time to time. I love you Appa. Adoption includes large dog crate and leash.

Story
Snoopy is a wonderful, intelligent dog! He is an Australian shepherd, Queensland Heeler, Rottweiler, Husky. He is a beautiful dog and gets many compliments. I know his mother's owner and adopted when he was 4 mo old; he will be 4 y/oin May. He is 80 pounds and likes to use his energy. He knows simple commands, can do some tricks, is fully house-trained & crate-trained. He likes other dogs and kids and even cats, but he likes to chase cats, so he might not be a good fit for a cat family. He also likes to lick little kids faces, so that might not be a good fit either. Snoopy loves to run with other dogs; he is very fast. Snoopy has caught a mouse, a rat, and a gopher. My friend, who is a dog walker and whisperer, says that he is dominant, protective of me, not aggressive but will defend. He is emotional and empathetic; he could be a therapy dog w/ training. Snoopy needs a bigger yard, someone who can spend more time with him; he likes to go on long walks, & his favorite is the dog park!

Story
Alvie is a perfect blend of adventure and calm. He loves bike rides, walks, and exploring new places, yet he has a laid-back nature, often content to sit at your feet while you work. Loyal and comforting, he’s the kind of dog who will quietly stay by your side, making him an excellent companion. He walks well on a leash and enjoys getting his legs wet at the beach, showing off his adventurous spirit. Despite his independence, he’s also a big fan of snuggling next to your feet, offering both comfort and affection. With his stoic, regal demeanor, Alvie is an old soul who will become your loyal shadow once he trusts you. He takes treats with gentle care and his favorite snack is string cheese. Alvie is smart and responds well to guidance & structures. While he doesn’t require a husky-savvy owner, he would thrive best with someone experienced in handling dogs. From Alvie's foster dad: Alvie loves running or biking with his human. He comes back with a happy face every time. He is very responsive to obedience training. He knows sit, wait, heel, here, leave it and no. He prefers to meet other dogs slowly. Once he trusts you, he will be your ride or die. He has very good leash manners once awhile he just needs some "reminders". Alvie is crate and muzzle trained, with no signs of separation anxiety. However, due to his high prey drive, we don’t recommend placing him in a home with small animals. If you’re looking for a loyal, adventurous, and loving companion, Alvie is your perfect match. Meet Alyssa: A Resilient, Loving Tripaw Looking for Her Forever Home Alyssa is the kind of dog who makes an instant impression—not because she’s a tripod, but because she’s overflowing with love. This sweet girl adores people more than anything. If you’re looking for a companion who will greet you with endless tail wags, lean into you for affection, and brighten every day with her joyful spirit, Alyssa is your girl. She lost her leg in a shelter dog fight as a tiny pup, but don’t tell her that—she doesn’t let it slow her down one bit! She gets around just fine, whether she’s trotting next to you on a walk or curling up beside you for a cozy nap. Alyssa is almost fully potty trained and is learning quickly. She can be a little reactive toward strange dogs, but with proper introductions, she can live happily with another dog. She knows sit, down, and leash manners! She comes with all her gear, including her crate, so she’ll have familiar comforts as she transitions into her new home

Story
Coyote is an apt moniker for this young lad: a little bit playful, a little bit shy, a little bit wild. Coyote is a great pup who is just growing up. He starts out a little unsure around humans, but once he figures out you’re there to take him out, he warms up pretty quickly. In the playroom, he will give you play bows and let you rub his soft belly. Coyote is also a good walker on leash and does not react to other dogs. He seems comfortable around them. He has bouts of playfulness and bursts of energy on walks, like any young dog should. He would make an excellent exercise buddy. He may have been running stray for a while, because Coyote arrived pretty skinny and exhibits some food possessiveness, so shelter staff are working on making him feel more secure with regular meals. This guy is ready to be your constant companion – come meet him soon.

Story
Do you love a dog with a snow white coat and a sweet disposition? Come meet Babybel. This girl is silky soft and oh so lovely. She was found tied to a tree, but things are looking up for her. Babybel is a little hand shy with new people, but part of it may be due to an eye condition in one of her eyes that affects her vision. With some daily drops, it’s easy to manage, and she’s very patient about getting her meds. Babybel may not have much leash experience yet, because she likes to dart around a bit. But she passes other dogs very politely and appears dog friendly. She also seems housetrained and is very human-oriented. Come meet her today – she may be your new best friend.

Story
Meeko comes from a line of gorgeous huskies. He is a bit shy at first, especially with people putting their hands on him. He’d much rather you take him out for a walk first. Meeko is a gentle walker on leash and appears totally comfortable with other dogs around. He’s not completely sure about humans yet, but staff and volunteers are working on making him feel safe and more confident. Meeko is very gentle and loves exercise. He would probably do best in a home with older kids or adults where he can get lots of walks, hikes, or runs. A back yard would also be on his wish list! Come meet Meeko today and see if you fall in love.

Story
Hiromi was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but in less than 10 days, she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She greets people with ease as long as they approach with the same calm energy that she emits. She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. This gorgeous girl is approximately 4-years old and weighs 57 pounds. She is also crate and house trained. She is ready to pledge her love and devotion! Are you?! Interested in adopting? Story
We don't know much about Tobi's past, but his future is bright.  He is a big boy with a heart the size to match.  He is a gentle giant with a gregarious, carefree attitude and is eager to learn and experience the world. He is game for adventure and deserves to have that special someone to accompany him in life. Tobi is playful and has a welcoming aura about him.  He also has an unabashed, confident side to him.  He's just not sure how he ended up here, and we're making sure he never has to wonder that ever again. He is best as an only dog and someone with previous Akita experience is best. Tobi is approximately 5 yrs old, and due to his size should be on a good quality joint supplement.  He's only been with us a short time, so will need to gain a few pounds to look his best, but he's already on his way to showing us his beautiful soul.
