Story
Shayba is a beautiful husky x looking for her special home. Her estimated bday is around 1/2021. She came to us at the end of 2021 and had a lump near her ankle. After testing, it is thought not to be cancerous and it hasn't grown in the year+ that we have had her. Her ankle doesn't slow this happy girl down...and Shayna is ready to find a home of her own. Here's what her fostermom has to say about this fun girl: Shayna is THE life of the party. Whether it is dogs or people she is ready to play. In her foster home she was assigned the role of teaching timid dogs how to party and has a 100 percent success rate at getting even the most shutdown dogs to enjoy life. Despite her ruff start found with mange walking the streets of Bakersfield, she looks at every person and place with love and an adventurous spirit. He coat has grown back nicely and her two different colored eyes get lots of attention. When Shayna is not playing with people or dogs she makes an excellent snuggle buddy and is happy to lay around with her crew. Or have a nice conversation, which led to her nickname “Roo Roo.” Shayna has a husky voice and will talk to you by “roo rooo roooing” which is hilarious and cute. Along with conversations she will let you know when it is breakfast or dinner time. Shayna is house trained, dog door trained, crate trained, and loves toys and play. If you would like to have a chat with Roo Roo please contact SIAR! Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$450 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us.We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ginger Spice! Are you ready to spice up your life with an adorable and energetic companion? Look no further than Ginger Spice, a delightful pup currently seeking her forever home in Sacramento! Ginger Spice's journey began in foster care, where she was born into a loving environment. While her exact breed mix remains a mystery, we suspect she's a blend of Pyrenees and Husky, though her smaller stature suggests otherwise. Regardless of her heritage, she is a true gem waiting to bring joy to your home. One of Ginger Spice's most endearing qualities is her exceptional animal socialization skills. She has grown up surrounded by dogs and cats, making her a perfect fit for multi-pet households. Her friendly nature ensures that she'll get along swimmingly with furry friends of all shapes and sizes. Born on December 22nd, Spice is currently in a critical stage of development, making continued socialization a priority. Therefore, we're seeking a loving family who will dedicate themselves to providing her with ongoing socialization and training, ensuring she grows into a well-rounded and well-behaved canine companion. In addition to her vivacious personality, Ginger Spice is undeniably gorgeous. Her striking appearance, combined with her friendly demeanor and playful spirit, makes her utterly irresistible. Who could resist those puppy-dog eyes and that infectious grin? If you're ready to welcome a furry bundle of joy into your life, look no further than Spice. Whether you're going for a hike in the great outdoors or cuddling up on the couch for movie night, Spice will be right by your side, ready to fill your days with love, laughter, and endless adventures. Story
Gertie is a female 14 month old Alaskan Husky mix. I fostered her out of a kill shelter to save her from the euthanasia list. She is extremely gentle and affectionate once she gets comfortable with her people and wants nothing more than to be where you are. She is a mellow tempered, lower energy girl for being so young and very curious about what everyone in the house or other dogs are doing. She has shown zero signs of aggression in any scenario. She leans more on the timid side of new environments or friends, as she just came out of a shelter. She will need a slow intro to most things. She still is figuring out leash walking, but she does not pull. She is very smart and easily trainable, she listens and understands when told no. She does not love being left alone but she will get in a crate comfortably without fuss. She would do best in a home with people home often or another dog as she has some separation anxiety. She is healthy, up to date on all vaccinations and dewormed.

Story
This sweet girl is a three-year old female husky looking for her forever home. She knows basic commands such as sit, down, wait, stay, and come. She's fine with cats, walks nicely on leash, and is not reactive to other leashed dogs. She absolutely loves playing with toys, fetching balls, splashing in the water, and relaxing on her bed. While she's a total lovebug with humans, she does exhibit resource guarding behavior with other dogs in the home, which is why she needs to be the only dog in her future home. We brought her home in August and were unaware of her challenges with other dogs at the time. Unfortunately, she does not get along with our current dog. After consulting with a canine behavior specialist, we've kept them separated, and in doing so, we've seen her open up in a whole new way. This experience helped us make the difficult decision to find her a new home where she can thrive as the only dog.

Story
I’m Storm, a whirlwind of affection and energy, and I’m super friendly! I’m looking for someone who can keep up with my enthusiasm and is devoted to giving me the exercise and attention I need to channel all of my spirit. I love dogs and people of all kinds, but I’m not a fan of being alone. I do get a little excited around small children because of my playful nature, so I’d do best in a home where I can be the center of attention (and fun!). I cannot be friends with cats.  If you’re ready to meet a ball of energy and affection, please submit your foster/adoption application. I can’t wait to meet you and see if we’re a perfect match! Wags and tail spins,Storm Please submit an application and we will contact you to discuss and arrange a meeting. We do a foster to adopt program for qualified foster homes.  ##1396288##

Story
Meet Roman, a gentle soul in need of love and understanding! This sweet Husky-Lab mix has had a tough start being born at a shelter, which has left him a bit shy and hesitant. He simply needs a patient family to help him feel safe and secure. Currently in a foster home, Roman has shown his loving nature, especially during car rides and when interacting with other dogs. He’s also not bothered by cats, making him a great addition to multi-pet households. With time and care, Roman will blossom into a loyal companion who will fill your life with joy.  NCFFP have lots of dogs that are in need of homes our rescue meets at Pet food Express from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. the third Saturday of each month at 2531 Fair oaks boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95825.  If interested in adoption contact Barbara Rescue Director at NorCal Freedom for Paws at (916) 582-2771.February 12, 2025, 11:25 pm

Story
Poppy was born in December 2023, and we adopted her in January 2024. She is great with other dogs and kids. We want her to have a home with plenty of space to play with someone who has time to give her the love and attention she deserves. Where we live we can’t keep her contained to the yard (we can’t have higher than a 4 ft fence, she jumps it) and it isn’t fair to keep her chained up all the time.
