Story
Ariel has an independent and demure personality. She`s not as vocal as her fellow huskies, which is where her name came from, although we can neither confirm or deny whether she made a deal with a sea witch. She`s really enjoying clicker training and is a big foodie.Ariel was found in Altadena during the Eaton Fire along with 14 other huskies. When she first arrived at Pasadena Humane, it seemed as though she wasn`t used to being around people. But our behavior team has been giving Ariel individualized care to help build her trust and show her how great it can be to bond with humans. Ariel is looking for a special adopter who can give her the understanding and patience she needs help her blossom. She`d love to be part of your world!Learn more about our adoption process.

Story
Okay, besties—Makenna is that girl. She’s got the energy, the drama, and the main character vibes of a true sorority queen. This stunning husky is always on the move, pacing like she’s late for brunch and whining like Starbucks just ran out of oat milk. Personality: Independent? Check. A little dramatic? Absolutely. Makenna isn’t one to settle for anything less than what she wants—she’ll let you know if she’s not feeling something (like leash pressure, ew) and prefers to do things her way. Physical affection? She’s still deciding. Maybe after she gets to know you… or maybe never. It’s called boundaries, babe! Her Ideal Lifestyle: Makenna thrives in open spaces where she can take in the vibes before committing to a walk. Think outdoor playdates with a long leash so she can explore at her own pace. She’s all about that soft launch—engage in the environment first, then maybe we’ll talk about a stroll. Her Love Language: Freedom. Personal space. The occasional treat if it’s high-value enough. She’s not clingy, she’s independent, and she needs a human who respects her need for space (and her flair for drama). If you’re looking for a strong, sassy, free-spirited queen to keep you on your toes, Makenna is your girl. Just make sure to let her set the schedule, okay? #BossBabeEnergyLearn more about our adoption process.

Story
Yo, what’s up? It`s Kyle here—just your classic frat bro, always looking for the next move (literally). This dude is all about the exit strategy—doors? Open? He’s on it. But don’t take it personally, he’s just got places to be and vibes to catch. Personality: Kyle`s the guy who shows up to the party, does a quick lap to scope things out, and then decides if he’s staying. He’s not big on unsolicited hugs (respect the personal space, bro), but if he chooses to hang with you? That’s an honor. Don’t force it—just let him come to you like the VIP he is. Ideal Environment: Campus life is the move for now—he’s still figuring things out, and structure is key. He needs a leash (because, let’s be real, he’s got a wandering spirit), and a patient crew who’ll let him set the pace. No sudden handshakes, no surprise hugs—just chill and wait for him to decide you’re cool. Love Language: Independence, respect, and probably a well-timed snack. Once he trusts you, you might earn the privilege of his attention—but no promises, bro. If you’re down to play it cool, let Kyle do his thing, and be the wingman he deserves, then you just might be the perfect Big to this forever Frat Boy. ???? #NoTouchingUntilHeSaysSoLearn more about our adoption process.

If you’re looking for a calm, quiet pup who’s worth the wait, Dylan could be your perfect match. He just needs a patient and understanding home where he can take his time and build trust at his own pace. Ready to give Dylan the time and space he needs? He’s waiting for someone just like you. ✨ I T A C H I ✨ Named after one of the most complex antagonists in anime/manga history, Itachi Uchiha 🥷🏻 ✅ Great with appropriate dogs ✅ Great with cats ✅ Calm, Sweet & Submissive ✅ Crate trained & House trained ✅ On-Leash Obedience trained ✅ No Reactivity ✅ QUIET 😍 Itachi ADORES his handler and thrives off connection, direction and understanding. He is looking for a handler who can advocate for him and provide the structure and support he needs as he continues to learn about the world and build confidence in new places. Itachi is social with new people, but is momentarily shy. He quickly warms up when afforded a polite intro. He has been an EXTREMELY easy dog to foster and work with. Itachi loves training, is very food motivated, and is eager to do things right! He is the perfect balance of an active companion & couch potato. ❗️Where we would like to see improvement: Itachi needs to continue to have wonderful experiences. Story
Bear is an easy going, even keel, lovely dog to have around. Meeting him is like being greeted by an old friend. He's a regal 70lbs soulful husky estimated by the shelter to be 2 years old, but based on his temperament and maturity, it's possible he's a year or so older. He's medium energy and is happy to lay at your feet at coffee shops, but also loves to hike and walk as much as you please. Bear is crate trained, walks really nicely on leash, and is well acclimated to environments. He came into the shelter with another dog, and is currently housed with a pack of dogs in his foster home, so we think he may enjoy the company of others, although he does bond with his people well. Story
Salt A114808 and Peppa A114807 are a Bonded Pair of pups that need to be adopted together! This dynamic duo are both high energy and clever. Salt is a little older and plays a little rougher, while also being super smart and curious. Pepa is younger, smaller and goofier, with a stronger attraction to people. They are both stunning in totally different ways- Salt is a husky mix and Pepa is a bull terrier mix. Their differences are part of what makes them such a powerhouse pair- they balance each other out. Their similarities are- they’re both a bit stubborn and need training reinforcement. They’ll both need to learn to trust a new family and will test boundaries at first. They’ll both need some patience and regular exercise from their new family. They’ll also make sure that family gets regular exercise and laughs at their antics every day. Seems like a fair trade to us! No other animals please!
