Story
Sequoia is super sweet, energetic, and quite unique, maybe even a little quirky. She’s very friendly and affectionate with people, and not reactive to dogs on walks. She loves belly rubs. Sequoia doesn’t seem to have a lot of leash-walking experience, and likes to keep tabs on her human by circling around you and nudging you along, which could be part of her herding dog instincts. She can be a little anxious and is not particularly interested in toys, preferring to be out and about and observing everything going on. She would likely do best in an active household where she can be engaged. She is housetrained. Sequoia is currently in a foster home. If you're interested in her, please email KSwanson@cityofberkeley.info. First, we'll set up a virtual meeting with their current foster family via phone, Zoom, or Facetime, to provide you with more detailed information. Then, if you feel that Sequoia might be a good adoption fit, shelter staff will gladly coordinate an up-close and personal meet and greet with your potential family member. Thank you for your support!

Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereMeet Gus, the furry handsome boy described as a loving teddy bear. He is a sweet boy who finds genuine happiness in simply sitting for a treat or strolling beside his hooman friends. Gus has a friendly temperament. He does best with an active lifestyle with lots of daily exercise and mental stimulation, and he is happy to communicate with you in his doggie voice when you have not met his needs. This cuddly boy enjoys belly rubs and is content to curl up on the couch with you after a full day of adventures! Gus has done well with other gentle, tolerant doggies in playgroups at the shelter. He engages in some play with other dogs and is sometimes content to just explore the yard on his own. He may do best in a home with another dog who enjoys occasional play sessions. Gus is in foster with @goodfluffs on Instagram. Ready to welcome Gus as your new family member? Click here to learn how to adopt, and submit your adoption questionnaire.   July 7, 2024, 12:29 am

Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereIntroducing Juneau, a classic husky beauty! Although she came to the shelter undersocialized, Juneau has made great progress in foster. She is sometimes cautious with strangers, but will shower those she trusts with all the love. In a quiet home, Juneau will continue to thrive. She is potty trained (yard only), has great house manners, and can be left home alone. Walking outside on leash is a relatively new hobby, and she's currently working on not getting over excited when she sees other dogs. She has strong prey drive, which would make co-habitating with cats unlikely. Juneau would enjoy being your one and only companion, but could also do well with another tolerant dog -- she has been playful with puppies in foster, and snuggles with calm adult dogs. She has also spent time with respectful kids, who report she is softer than a fleece blanket! Juneau is 3 years old and 52 lbs. Follow her in foster with @adopt.this.dog.eastbay on Instagram!
