Sequoia is super sweet, energetic, and quite unique, maybe even a little quirky. She’s very friendly and affectionate with people, and not reactive to dogs on walks. She loves belly rubs. Sequoia doesn’t seem to have a lot of leash-walking experience, and likes to keep tabs on her human by circling around you and nudging you along, which could be part of her herding dog instincts. She can be a little anxious and is not particularly interested in toys, preferring to be out and about and observing everything going on. She would likely do best in an active household where she can be engaged. She is housetrained. Sequoia is currently in a foster home. Although she came to the shelter undersocialized, Juneau has made great progress in foster. She is sometimes cautious with strangers, but will shower those she trusts with all the love. In a quiet home, Juneau will continue to thrive. She is potty trained (yard only), has great house manners, and can be left home alone. Walking outside on leash is a relatively new hobby, and she's currently working on not getting over excited when she sees other dogs. She has strong prey drive, which would make co-habitating with cats unlikely. Juneau would enjoy being your one and only companion, but could also do well with another tolerant dog -- she has been playful with puppies in foster, and snuggles with calm adult dogs.
