Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.COURTESY POST: Meet Ember! Meet Ember, a vibrant 2-year-old Siberian Husky who is searching for her forever home! Just a few months ago, Ember was adopted from the San Diego Humane Society by a loving family who had previously welcomed another Siberian Husky named Willow into their lives. While Willow, now 6, has been a cherished member of the family, they believe Ember could be the perfect partner for her after the heart-wrenching loss of their previous pup. However, as time has passed, it has become clear that, despite their best efforts, Ember's energetic and spirited nature simply doesn't mesh with Willow's more laid-back personality. Though the two dogs enjoy each other’s company during outdoor playdates, the dynamics of home life have proved to be challenging. The family has gone above and beyond in trying to find a harmonious balance, enrolling Ember and Willow in training and working to establish structure. However, as senior citizens, they find themselves unable to meet Ember's high energy and exercise needs. It’s commendable that they have made the decision to prioritize Ember's well-being by seeking a more active family. I’ve personally witnessed their dedication and the lengths they have gone to help Ember adjust, and it’s clear that this decision comes from a place of love and responsibility. Ember is a true gem of a dog—sweet, playful, loves to swim and incredibly intelligent. She thrives on human interaction, loves children, and has shown herself to be a loyal and adaptable companion. Ember is not only potty trained and house trained, but she has also completed several months of professional training, mastering her commands with ease. Her gentle demeanor means she won’t destroy your belongings or chew on furniture, making her the perfect buddy for a cozy Netflix night as much as for adventurous outings. With her striking hazel eyes and soft fur, Ember's beauty is sure to capture the hearts of anyone who meets her. To ensure her continued success, we believe that Ember would thrive in a home where she can benefit from group dog walks and training classes that help channel her energy and maintain her obedience. She is healthy, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed, making her ready to start her new adventure with a loving family who understands the unique needs of her breed. If you live in Southern California, specifically in Escondido, San Diego County, or nearby areas, and have a secure yard along with another friendly dog, Ember could be the perfect addition to your family. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to welcome this wonderful dog into your life! If you're ready to embrace Ember's joyful spirit, visit tlck9rescue.org to apply for adoption. Your heart and home will never be the same again!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 9:16 pm

Story
How this pet arrived: Mimi was brought in by her previous owner on October 24, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Introducing Mimi, a sweet girl who's ready to bring joy and love into your home. Mimi is a mellow and very social pup who thrives on human companionship and adores attention. Mimi was previously an outdoor dog, so she'll need a little help with potty training as she adjusts to indoor life, although she's pretty much nailed it already. She's an escape artist when left outside alone, so a home where she can live comfortably indoors and be close to you would be ideal. Mimi loves long walks, car rides, and bath time. With her friendly nature and love for people, Mimi is looking for a warm and caring home where she can truly feel like a part of the family. Mimi has also been known to resource guard, so we recommend respecting her space while she's eating - if you have any other pets, it's important to keep them separate during feedings! If you're ready to welcome a sweet, social, and affectionate companion into your home, Mimi is eager to meet you and start her new chapter with a loving family! Don't forget to bring a leash and collar! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 57 Age: 6yrs 7mths 4wks

Mello is a 10 month old sweetheart, that unfortunately needs a lot of training and time. Living in a 1,000 sqft house and having a very time consuming career doesn’t allow for that. He deserves the best, and I can’t see myself denying him of that. He has a wellness plan that will be signed over to you. His neutering is included in the plan. It ends in April.

Story
Hi there! My name is Brittany! Though I am in foster care right now, I am looking for a new foster or a furever home to help me branch out away from my mom and siblings. (send an email to info@smallbreedrescue.org if you are interested in fostering me) I’m a happy-go-lucky, carefree, and cheerful companion who is tough on the outside but a teddy bear on the inside. What thrills me most in life is sharing my love with those around me, whether you’re big, small, old, or young. I’m an equal-opportunity companion! Affection is my middle name, and I can’t think of anything better than getting love and attention from my family. I’m outgoing and friendly, and you’ll often find me lying in your cozy lap, content and happy. My favorite toys are squeaky ones and those that help me with my teething. I love every treat I’ve tried and enjoy playing chase and getting cuddles. My foster family is helping me learn manners or what we call Petiquette and how to be calm. Sometimes I have trouble controlling my excitement and impulses, but I’m learning. I like to take my time approaching new situations. While I’m a bit shy with new faces and places, I warm up as I become more familiar with my environment. I know sit, stay, come, off, down, wait, and walk on a leash with a harness. I am crate-trained and, although I whine at first, I settle down pretty quickly. I’m learning to be potty trained and do well when I am reminded to go outside. I still need some help with my manners and would do well with some additional positive reinforcement training. Exercise keeps me happy and content. Without it, I can get a little worked up. I do best when I have had a chance to get my energy out so that I can be calm later. Going for walks, engaging in play, and doing outdoor activities with my new family daily would make me very happy! I was found living under a shed on a very large, secluded property with my siblings and mom and boy have I come a long way! If you think we may be a good match or would like to get to know me better, please click the Adoption Application button below my bio on the rescue website, here is the link - https://www.smallbreedrescue.org/Home/AnimalDetails/12526 Please note - Due to home introductions that are part of the adoption process, we can only accept applications for interested parties who are in or near North County San Diego County, California, at this time.

Story
Meet Snow Bella – A Gentle Soul Seeking her Forever Home Snow Bella is currently in foster care, looking for a forever home where she can begin to bond with her family. Though a bit shy and reserved, Snow Bella is a calm, gentle companion who bonds deeply with her people and loves spending time with her goat friends. If another animal ventures too close to them, she quickly springs into action to keep them safe! Bella has just begun meeting the other dogs in her foster family. With a gentle, watchful nature, she’s learning to feel comfortable around new friends and environments at her own pace. While she hasn't yet tried to play with the big dog she’s met, she’s curious and open to learning. Though cautious at first, she loves attention from people she trusts and absolutely adores belly and ear rubs! Recently, Snow Bella has discovered the joy of chew toys and enjoys zooming around. She’s not a fan of bland dog treats but lights up for meaty ones. She’s always gentle and calm, and even when scared, has never shown any signs of aggression. Snow Bella is crate-shy and prefers spending her time outdoors, where she can roam and watch over her surroundings. She’s happiest in a space with plenty of room to explore, especially since she was found with her puppies under a shed on a large, quiet property. However, she is also a wonderful housemate, with perfect manners and no accidents indoors. Snow Bella’s foster family is helping her learn basic commands like "stay" and "come," and she’s adapting well to walking on a leash. She stays close, content to follow her person as they lead. Exercise is essential to her well-being, so an active, spacious home where she can thrive is her dream. If you think Snow Bella could be the perfect fit for your family,, please click the Adoption Application button below my bio on the rescue website, here is the link - https://www.smallbreedrescue.org/Home/AnimalDetails/12521 Please note - Due to home introductions that are part of the adoption process, we can only accept applications for interested parties who are in or near North County San Diego County, California, at this time.

Story
We adopted him from the SD Human Society in Dec 2021. We have provided so much love and care for him that sadly we are not able to keep up with his needs and care. He is a wonderful dog and gets a long with kids and small dogs. He is a Husky/malamute (It was noted Husky, but he looks more of a malamute). He loves to play catch (when he's not lazy); loves to escape if possible...loves to bark and talk to solicitors. Unfortunately with finance and my husband not being able to work due to a work injury then a car breaking down on us…we cannot afford. important notice: He just had an endoscopy to remove a fox tail.
