Husky Alaskan Malamute

Male, 1 yr 8 mos
Pleasant Hill, CA
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Volunteers describe him as playful, happy and great on leash. Favorite things: play fetch and loves water. His playstyle is Rough & Rowdy: involving lots of physical play such as grabbing, holding, and tumbling. It is typically mutual and often noisy. Human analogy: wrestling or rough housing. Socially, he's selective which means he can play with some dogs but not successfully with all dogs. He would do best in a home where he is the only object of his human's affection. Mint Chip is available for adoption at Contra Costa Animal Services in Martinez https://www.contracosta.ca.gov/7885/Available-Dogs

Story
Sweet Brulee is a beautiful girl with the most amazing coloring. She has a strong personality, very human centric and bonds very quickly with her humans. She walks decent on leash once some of the typical husky energy has been burnt off but could use more leash training and would do best with a very active family. She has a strong prey drive so care should be taken around small animals.  Brulee is treat motived, takes treats very nicely, knows 'sit', ‘shake’, 'down', 'stay' and crate trained. She loves playing with toys and people, but not very interested in other dogs. Brulee would most likely do best as an only dog as she loves all the attention. Anyone looking for a very active but extremely sweet girl as a companion dog, Brulee is your girl!Click here to watch a video of Brulee.      October 1, 2024, 5:44 pm

Story
Oakley - I would describe myself as a rather stunning girl with my beautiful bright blue eyes, and my coat is white, soft and fluffy. As an energetic Husky, I’m always looking for fun things to do, like going for a hike or a long walk. I love to run around in my yard, chase squirrels, and sometimes just take a nap on the patio or grass. I do love to play with my squeaky toys and Kongs, and get along well with other dogs. But prefer to not go to dog parks where other dogs might be off leash, as I can get skittish. Having a sibling to play with at home would be nice too, as I do miss being with my brother Cash. One of my favorite things is to cuddle next to my human when they are watching TV. I do know many commands as “Sit, Stay, Lay Down”.  I also love my kibble for meals, as I am not very fussy with my food. I will come into the kitchen to see what you are cooking, but I know I shouldn’t have any people food, as it might upset my tummy. I am also crate trained and will eat my meals in it, and will sleep comfy though the night.  Please come and check me out, I promise you won't be disappointed! Click here to watch a video of Oakley.      October 1, 2024, 5:44 pm

Story
Bill is a strikingly handsome gentleman that  is ready for a foster or forever home.  He weighs in at 80 lbs. He has high energy but can also be calm. He's a Shepsky that has the best of both breeds! The shepherd in him is guarding and alert, but the husky in him greets people easily. He is crate trained and potty trained. Bill loves to be outdoors and likes other dogs. He would do best in a home with a constant human or canine companion, or both!       October 1, 2024, 5:44 pm

Story
Jubilee has been living in a foster home and she's really living up to her name!  She is about 12 months old and full of FUN!  This sweetheart of a puppy only weighs 40 lbs. and we don't think she'll get much bigger.   She loves all the dogs and people she meets - and they love her back! She especially loves, loves to play with her 8 month old and 2 yr old foster sisters, for hours! She is also respectful to older dogs.  She's a smart girl that knows basic commands, is potty trained, plus she’s eager to please.  She loves to cuddle when she's sleeping or relaxing, either with humans or other dogs. She's well behaved in public and in restaurants - but is very interested in meeting other dogs too.  She needs some leash training and we're working on that. She's still very full of young puppy energy! Jubilee is 57% Siberian Husky, 23% Australian cattle dog, 9% Alaskan malamute, 3% Samoyed and 3% Chow Chow! All this in a petite and fun sized little girl t hat wants to be your BFF! Click here to watch a video of Jubilee.      October 1, 2024, 5:44 pm

Story
Prancer is an easy girl: - Potty trained - Crate trained - Easy to walk and not a puller (loose leash!) - Not an escape artist or digger - Can be trusted alone in a home without touching a thing! Seriously. Great on solo walks. Would be great in a calm environment. Loves treats and very affectionate. Great with other people; needs attention around other dogs. She’s loving, lovely and easy! She loves her walks, rides and adventures, but, despite little bursts of energy, she’s not super high energy so a nice walk and/or play time in the yard and she’s good to go. This really is an easy dog!      Click here to watch a video of Prancer the Dancer.      October 1, 2024, 5:44 pm

Story
Meet Wolfie! He's about 4-1/2 yrs old and weighs in just under 60 lbs. He has gorgeous and soulful brown eyes and a perfect mask and coat to match! Wolfie is a happy boy with a big personality! He does great at adoption fairs and gets along well with other dogs his size. He would do well both in an active home as an only dog where he can have other dog friends, or a home with other dog siblings. Wolfie is crate trained and rides well in a car. His leash training is going well! He's a smart boy and is very motivated. He's also an escape artist, so at least a 6ft and dig proof fence is a must. He is looking for a foster or forever home. Fostering-to-adopt is a great way to see if one of our pups is the right fit for your family/lifestyle. Wolfie is all vetted and ready to meet you!
