Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Are you looking for a soft snuggly boy to join you on all your fun adventures? Diesel is a sweet and loving boy who's looking for a patient forever home that can help show him the world in a slow and safe way! Though he can be a little timid at first, once he warms up, Diesel becomes a total cuddle bug who adores getting scratches and attention. As a young dog, he's still learning how to walk on a leash, so his new family will need to continue his training using positive reinforcement, or even some classes with an Animal Kind trainer. He will need some ongoing training so he can catch up on the skills he hasn't had a chance to learn. The world can be a big place sometimes for a little pup like him and continued work on building his confidence will be key.He would do best in a home with older or dog savvy children as he's still quite bouncy and doesn't know his own strength. Diesel previously lived with other dogs and could do well with a patient canine friend who's willing to share their space. He is looking for a someone to be his rock and show him how fun new adventures can be. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, Diesel might be the perfect fit!
