NOTE: If you are interested in meeting multiple pups from this litter, please specify which when prompted. This way, you only need to apply once! :) Meet the winter wonder pups! These nine 8-week-old adorable bundles of joy are ready to find their forever homes! With their stunning blue eyes, fluffy coats, and playful personalities, they're sure to steal your heart. This litter is a perfect blend of Husky energy and German Shepherd loyalty-ideal for active families or anyone looking for a companion to keep them on their toes!🐶 Energy and Playfulness: Perfect for active families or anyone who loves outdoor activities like hiking, running, or playing fetch.🐕 Intelligence & Trainability: With both Husky and Shepherd in their blood, these pups are incredibly smart and quick to learn.❤️ Sweet & Affectionate: They love snuggling up with their humans and will shower you with puppy kisses once they're tuckered out from playtime.Ideal Home:These pups would thrive in homes where they can get plenty of physical exercise, mental stimulation, and love. A yard to run around in or access to dog parks would be a bonus! They'd do well in homes with other dogs and would enjoy growing up with kids who love to play and engage.Note: As with all puppies, we recommend puppy-proofing your home and preparing for the commitment of training, exercise, and socialization. The more time and effort you put into training now will pay off ten fold when they grow into a giant slobbery member of your family. Remember, adoption is a big decision and lifetime commitment to the dog - these pups will grow into big, strong dogs and will need a family that's ready for the adventure!TIP: We strongly suggest all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted.https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting. Meet Bella!Bella is a timid yet sweet girl searching for her forever home! Once she warms up to you, Bella enjoys gentle scratches and pets, but she's still learning how to be a dog. She'll need a patient, calm family to help her build confidence and experience the world around her. Bella hasn't had much exposure to the outdoors, so she will rely on her people to show her that it's a safe and enjoyable place. She is still working on leash training, so her adopters will need to continue this in her new home.Bella would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can explore safely at her own pace.In her previous home, Bella has shown separation anxiety and would appreciate a household where someone is around for the majority of the day. She isn't afraid to be vocal and would do best in a home where she can voice her opinions! Due to her shyness, she would do best in a home with older children or dog-savvy children. Coming from a home with other dogs, she may thrive in a home with a calm, polite, and confident canine who can show her how to be a spoiled pup! 🌞Do you think you could be Bella's person? Here are some ways to find out:1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or2.) Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs. Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but can fly to a Canadian home near you!
