Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but can fly to a Canadian home near you! Story
Meet Jack!Jack is a shaggy husky mix ready to find his new fur-ever home! Jack was surrendered with his 6 other siblings and is enjoying his time playing with his littermates. Jack enjoys spending his days getting lots of attention from people and we suspect he'll do well in most homes that are able to give him LOTS of love, exercise, play time, and animal kind training. True to his husky roots, Jack is quite the vocal puppy, so if you like dogs that howl, sing, talk, and everything inbetween - he might be the one for you! While he may be small now, he's growing fast and will likely be a large breed and active dog in no time! Jack is already neutered and ready to go to his new home so if you are interested in meeting him, please fill out an application found here: https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/.
