Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but can fly to a Canadian home near you! NOTE: If you are interested in meeting multiple pups from this litter, please specify which when prompted. This way, you only need to apply once! :) Meet the winter wonder pups! These nine 8-week-old adorable bundles of joy are ready to find their forever homes! With their stunning blue eyes, fluffy coats, and playful personalities, they're sure to steal your heart. This litter is a perfect blend of Husky energy and German Shepherd loyalty-ideal for active families or anyone looking for a companion to keep them on their toes!🐶 Energy and Playfulness: Perfect for active families or anyone who loves outdoor activities like hiking, running, or playing fetch.🐕 Intelligence & Trainability: With both Husky and Shepherd in their blood, these pups are incredibly smart and quick to learn.❤️ Sweet & Affectionate: They love snuggling up with their humans and will shower you with puppy kisses once they're tuckered out from playtime.Ideal Home:These pups would thrive in homes where they can get plenty of physical exercise, mental stimulation, and love. A yard to run around in or access to dog parks would be a bonus! They'd do well in homes with other dogs and would enjoy growing up with kids who love to play and engage.Note: As with all puppies, we recommend puppy-proofing your home and preparing for the commitment of training, exercise, and socialization. The more time and effort you put into training now will pay off ten fold when they grow into a giant slobbery member of your family. Remember, adoption is a big decision and lifetime commitment to the dog - these pups will grow into big, strong dogs and will need a family that's ready for the adventure!TIP: We strongly suggest all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted.https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting.
