Story
Hi all, my name is Silas. I am a very loving four year old, male, husky mix who needs a new home. My family adores me, but I am not doing well with the new toddler in my family. Loud noises and fast movements are upsetting for me. So my family is making the painful decision to find me a child free home.  I am very good with other dogs and I adore cats. I would LOVE to share my new home with one of those fascinating creatures. Once I am comfortable with you I am very cuddly. I love to get belly rubs and to snuggle. You will love how well behaved I am. I am great on the leash, and have no food or toy aggression.  If you are looking for a dog to play and snuggle with who will keep you smiling, I am your boy. I am neutered and vaccinated. My adoption fee is $800 Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1949542##

Hey big world. My name is RACCOON and here is a little info about me:Breed: HuskyAge: 1 yearGender: maleWeight: 46 lbsHeight: tbdHighlight(s): playful, energetic, social If you Peter Piper picked a pack of peppered puppies, how many puppies would Peter Piper have picked? Why, all of them of course. But there is just me, so that makes it easy for you.My rescuer found me on the road in the Middle East. It was in the dark of the night and I was in the middle of the road. I could have gone under the wheel of a car at any moment. Thankfully, my rescuer suddenly saw me and swerved the car to avoid running me over. That was just a couple weeks ago.I currently live with a small dog and 3 cats at the boarding house where I am staying. I love to hobnob with the cats. For a husky pup, I actually seem pretty gentle. No bonzai bounce in this kid, but I can be like any puppy, mischievious and playful... like a raccoon. I kind of look like a raccoon too, hence my name. Playing in water is fun. https://youtu.be/g6pn3t3zOvI. Teething time: https://youtu.be/k16ka0tG71s, past it now though.Being a social boy, I'd love a home with other fur brothers or sisters:  https://youtu.be/fHqO7oa2V_k, even the 2 legged kind of siblings is fine by me. Heck, let's get everyone in on the fun. I know a good thing when I find it though and like to hoard all the attention to myself. Hopefully, we can do hiking and other outdoor adventures. Especially snow activities, I'm a sled dog, right? Energetically, bounding through the snow, pulling Santa's sleigh, oh wait, that's the reindeer. Ha.I'd love a yard best, but if we manage enough action out and about, I should be ok without. Another vid of me with buddies: https://youtube.com/shorts/RBsV_sJRHD0. Hello! My name is Samuel, keep reading to get to know me!Breed: Husky / German Shepherd mixAge: 9 months Gender: Male Weight: 21kg (46 lbs) Height: 50 cm  I had a rough introduction to the world. My rescuer found me, along with my two other siblings (Sebastian and Soffie) in a box beside a trash bin when we were only one month old. Can you imagine how scared we were? Thankfully we had each other. We were found with parvovirus unfortunately. My rescuer had all three of us treated and now we are healthy and happy.  I’m feeling just about ready for a new home. The shelter is cramping my style and I’m ready to spread my wings. My rescuer says I am calm, but also energetic when I want to be! Given my breed, it’s no surprise that I am bright, smart, and will make you laugh a bit. I’m happy to cuddle up with you after a day of exploring. I’m good with other dogs and I like people! Kids though? Not sure, I haven’t met any yet! Cats… what are those? I haven’t met any yet! However my rescuer says they have not observed any prey drive.  I’m house trained and can walk on a leash! But I would love to learn so much more! I am the perfect age to learn some new skills.  I would do best in a home that can provide me with lots of exercise as my energy level is high! I would love to join my potential family on walks, adventures, bike rides, etc. Oh! And you may want to invest in a lint roller, if you know what I mean. My ideal home would be one who could give me the love and attention I need in order to thrive! I am a smart dude and will crave some mental stimulation on top of physical stimulation.  Energy Level: High  I get along with: Dogs: Yes People: YesKids: UnknownCats: Unknown Prey drive: Not observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours should they arise.  Fears: None observed. I would love to learn more skills.  Health notes: Parvovirus when found at 1 month old. Has been treated and is healthy now. I’m just about ready to go. I’ve out grown this place and I’m ready for a new beginning. Could you be the one to offer me that? My rescuer says I’m a smarty pants, agile, and very energetic. I’ll make you laugh and then come cuddle with you. I can be calm when it’s needed but given my age, I love to play and do activities.  I would do best in a home that can provide the mental and physical stimulation I need in order to thrive. Story
Hiya frenzz! My name is Tula and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Husky Mix Age: 11 months  Gender: Female Weight: 28 lbs (12.5 kgs)  Height: 50 cm (paws to top of my head) Length: 65 cm (head to butt) Current Location: Guadalajara, Mexico  RESCUE STORY - My family surrendered me to the vet when I was just 7 months old because they couldn't take good care of me. I was hungry and desperately needed some TLC! My skin was very itchy and needed serious help too. The vet took speical care of me and I was dewormed and had my skin fixed too! I was at the vet for about 2 months and now am looking for my furever home.  I have all my vaccines and I'm a happy, healthy girl. I loooove attention and sometimes bark if I want you to play with me. My fosters say I'm not a noisy dog at all but can bark when I'm playing or want your attention. I am used to being in my cozy kennel or carrier, where I am very well behaved. At home I try to be sooo good but because I'm still a puppy, when I get left alone I tend to get into mischief  :D  TEMPERAMENT -  I am an active, loving and sociable dog. My fosters say I am sweet, active and adventurous! I loooove having doggy friends and get along well with others, although I sometimes am excited with my pup energy and can get a little rough. But I can learn to be chill! I'm very intrigued by cats and am so very gentle as I like to be around them, even thouigh I don't get too close. I am a good girl around children, but due to my puppy energy, I can be somewhat abrupt without intention. But I want to be a well behaved lady with with some behaviour training.  ENERGY LEVEL - Medium GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown (no footage provided) but testing can be requested.  Dogs –  Yes! I can be a bit rough with my puppy energy but I live with multiple pups and do well with them. Cats – Yes! I live with a cat now but I don't get too close, see here PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Work in progress. Positive reinforcement will help me learn! I just want to bounce around and enjoy my walks hehe. You can see me walk here House trained – Work in progress. I am still in the process of training to go potty in the yard. Crate trained - I may need some additional training and patience. Car rides - I may need some additional training and patience. Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed and vaccinated. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. NOTE: I have a scar from sterilization and another from a previous dermatological problem that is now completely resolved. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD ($750.00 + PST and GST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2232003##

Story
Meet Papa BearThis extremely handsome boy came to us from an unfortunate hoarding situation with 8 other dogs. His heartbreaking start to life left him cowering, terrified of everything and everyone. After lots and lots of time, patience and love from the staff, plenty of hard work from Bear, and even more courage, he has blossomed into a kind and full of personality fellow. He still has a lot to learn about the world and is a careful and cautious boy with all new things. He will need a very kind and patient home who can continue his progress in the real world. Papa Bear gets along with other dogs and it will be critical that his new home has either another female dog or regular access to a dog who can be his bestie, his role model, and a playful companion. No small dogs though please, Bear is more comfortable with dogs his own size. His home should also have a yard to play in while he works up the courage to navigate a new neighbourhood on a leash. Do you think you have the gentle and supportive home that Bear needs? Fill out an application for us to review, and ask staff to arrange a meet at the Burnaby Centre. Papa Bear will need time to build some trust with his new guardians so an approved applicant will want to be prepared for a few bonding sessions in the shelter before the big day. Visit our centre to meet this pet during viewing hours at 3202 Norland Ave, learn more about their ideal match and apply to adopt in person; or Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions, an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs Our viewing/adoption hours are: 1pm-5pm Monday - Wednesday, Friday 1pm-4pm Weekends Closed Thursday to the public. Story
Meet Ally, a stunning 4-year-old  Husky and one of our Wanju meat farm survivors. Ally’s bright and cheerful personality shone through even in the toughest conditions. She is incredibly social with people and warms up to strangers instantly. If you give her a little attention, she’ll roll over and show you her belly! She adores humans, including children, and loves being touched and held. Picking her up is no problem at all—she’s all about that human connection. When it comes to other dogs, Ally is friendly and enjoys playing, even with new friends. However, she can get annoyed with overly energetic or pushy dogs and values her alone time and personal space. If another dog challenges her, she isn’t one to back down. Because of this, Ally would thrive either as the only dog in her new home or with a calm, low-energy companion who respects her boundaries. We haven’t had a chance to observe Ally around cats or birds, so her reactions to them remain unknown. With a moderate energy level, Ally loves outdoor activities but also appreciates her downtime afterward. She’s a big fan of cozying up in her house or hammock and thoroughly enjoys relaxing in her own space. On walks, Ally’s curious and loves exploring, which sometimes results in her pulling on the leash to go her preferred way. That said, she’s manageable and calms down as the walk progresses. She’s enthusiastic about her outings but settles nicely once she’s had her fill. Ally has excellent manners when it comes to food—she doesn’t guard her meals from people or other dogs. She’s not prone to barking and doesn’t exhibit separation anxiety. She’s also well-behaved in a crate and potty trained outdoors. Despite her challenging start in life, Ally greeted everyone at the dog farm with a wagging tail and bright eyes. View more photos and videos on Facebook: Link to Post Does Ally sound like the right companion for you? Send in your application today here or through our website:adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/ AKR dogs can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston, etc) where we have flight volunteers. Story
Hello! My name is Yogi and I’m a 2-year-old male Husky weighing 20 kg (44 lbs). With my stunning Husky looks and playful personality, I’m sure to steal your heart! I’m full of love and affection, always ready to show off my playful and charming side. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy making new friends, both furry and human. When I see people come and go, I sometimes let out a signature Husky howl to say, “Don’t forget about me!” I’m energetic and love outdoor adventures. While I can pull a bit on the leash during walks, I calm down quickly and walk nicely once I’ve burned off some of my excitement. I’m also very food-motivated and will happily accept treats from anyone, making it easy to become fast friends. Because I’m a true Husky at heart, I’d love to be adopted by someone familiar with the breed and its unique traits. My high energy and lively personality are part of my charm, but I need someone who can keep up with me and understand my needs. I love to play and often express my desire for attention with high energy, but that’s just my way of saying, “Let’s have fun together!” Above all, I crave love and connection with my humans and promise to be a loyal, affectionate companion. Are you ready to share your life with a fun, energetic, and lovable Husky? I can’t wait to meet you and start our adventures together! 🐾 To see more videos:https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyEuMiuW6Ww58lIWSlAQjTbitIyvmFWwX

Story
Lovely handsome young Marty McFly found himself in our shelter after he was found tied to a bench outside. This dog was very scared when he was first brought in but has really blossomed into a lovely dog. Marty loves to play with other dogs and absolutely adores the attention he is receiving from our staff and volunteers. He is exceptionally smart and obedient. He learns fast and comes every time he is called and sits in front waiting for his treat. He is highly treat motivated and would benefit from a home who wants to teach him new things. We feel he would fair best in an adult only home but could be ok with teenagers as he is nervous about body handling. He can get overstimulated and mouthy when he is scared. He is fantastic with the other dogs and shows absolutely no reactive or aggressive behavior. He walks well on leash and enjoys going on his walks. He will be neutered soon and is up to date on worming and shots. At City of Vancouver Animal Services, we have a foster-to-adopt program whereby prospective new owners foster the adoptable animal for 21 days before committing to adoption. This ensures that both the new owner and the adoptable animal are well suited to each other. Adoption Fee $374 Includes: -Spay/Neuter -First set of shots -One vet visit -Microchip -Bag of food If you live in Vancouver, you will also need to buy a dog license.

Story
Hello, Vancouver!  My name is Shilar (aka Sunny, aka Shade) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Malamute / Husky mixAge: 3 years (born 08/13/21)Gender: MaleWeight: 62 lbsHeight tbdHighlights: Gentle, intelligent, cuddly, loyal.  Loves attention from all humans and wants to meet all the dogs! I am so excited to be here in Canada!  I arrived in Vancouver from Lebanon in the fall of 2024 and have been having an amazing time living with my foster family.  I've had the pleasure of exploring parks, making other canine buddies, and discovering the joys of toys & cozy cuddles on couches and in bed.  This has been the ultimate upgrade from my previous life on the streets and shelters in Lebanon.  I was originally named Shade because of my dark fur, my foster Mom renamed me Sunny for my happy smile and zest for life.  Shilar is another one of my nicknames, which holds the connotations of peaceful and calm-- I'm a big cuddle buddy, but my zoomies come out when I'm truly at ease and happy!  I am pretty adaptable, so whether you choose to name me Shilar, Shade, Sunny, or something new, I will greet you with my winning smile and endless affection! Sunny was rescued from one of the most dangerous areas in Lebanon, where he faced unthinkable challenges. Local kids threw rocks at him, and residents scared him away with gunfire when he sought safety near their homes. Alone and scared, he was discovered hiding under a car, separated from his littermates and mother. Rescuers brought Sunny to a foster home in Lebanon, where he received care, safety, and the chance to trust humans again. He also began to socialize with other dogs, showing his gentle and playful side. When Sunny arrived in Vancouver, he received a 5-star grooming session that revealed an untreated puncture wound. Thanks to prompt vet care, he healed quickly and emerged as the happy, loving dog he is today. Sunny is a delightful mix of calm and playful. He’s a big fan of cuddles, but when he’s truly at ease, his zoomies come out, showcasing his joyful spirit! He’s curious about squirrels and birds but mostly watches them disappear into the trees and sky. Sunny loves walks, running off-leash in fenced areas, and learning new things. Smart and eager to please, he’s ready to soak up all the love and knowledge his future family can share. Sunny’s Ideal HomeSunny would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run and explore. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, both big and small, and loves making new friends. If another dog doesn’t share his enthusiasm, he doesn’t quite understand but remains kindhearted. He’s excellent at sharing his toys and food, making him a great candidate for a multi-dog household. If Sunny were an only dog, he’d be just as happy as long as he gets plenty of love, walks, and opportunities to socialize with other dogs.  From his rough beginnings to his current happy-go-lucky demeanor, Sunny is a true survivor with a heart full of love. He’s looking for a family who will cherish his gentle, playful nature and provide the forever home he deserves.  If you’re ready to meet your new best friend, come meet Sunny and let his smile brighten your world! Energy level: ModerateI get along with:Dogs: YesCats: Unknown (shows little prey drive when he sees them during walks)Kids: Yes Fears: Sometimes loud noises can spook himTraining: Knows how to sit, lay down, give a paw on command.  Understands "leave it" or "drop it".  Responds well to name "Sunny".  Recall command is a work in progress.  Please be prepared to continue training. Leash skills: Leashes are new to him since fall 2024 and he's learning manners.  A front clip harness minimizes pulling.  Sometimes gets "zoomies" on walks when excited and jumps around.  Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes.  New environments can be stressful, please be prepared to monitor and continue training. I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##1795706##

Story
Hi there! My name is Bryce, and I have quite the story to tell.   Breed: Alaskan MalamuteAge: 4 yearsGender: Male    Weight: 73 lbHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, rarely barks, no escape tendency I was found wondering the streets and ended up in a city pound as a stray. Despite having a microchip, no one came to claim me, and I was at risk of being euthanized. Thankfully, I was saved and brought to a shelter, but unfortunately, I've been there for over a year without finding a family to call my own. Living in Korea's hot and humid summers hasn't been easy for me as a Malamute. I'm really hoping to find a home where I can be comfortable and happy. I'm not shy at all when it comes to meeting new people. In fact, I love it when strangers pet me and give me belly rubs. I'm a big fan of scratches and don't mind being brushed. Just be prepared for some shedding! I get along well with other dogs, regardless of their size. I've been living with 30-40 dogs at the shelter, so I'm used to being around many furry friends. However, I haven't had the chance to meet a cat yet, so I'm not sure how I would react. I have a moderate energy level and enjoy outdoor activities. I walk well on a leash and am confident in urban environments. Sudden noises and car rides don't scare me at all. In fact, I absolutely love car rides and enjoy looking out the window, feeling the wind on my face. I want to assure you that I haven't shown any signs of aggression. However, I do have a little possessive behavior when it comes to certain things. Sometimes, I won't let go of something I have in my mouth. But don't worry, the shelter is working on this with me, and it's recommended to continue "leave it" training after adoption. I don't have separation anxiety and rarely bark. You won't have to worry about me trying to escape either. I am crate-trained, but I haven't been housetrained yet since I haven't had the chance to live in a home. With a little patience and guidance, I'm sure I'll catch on quickly. I'm just a lovable Malamute looking for a family to call my own. If you're ready to give me the love and care I deserve, please consider adopting me. I promise to be a loyal and affectionate companion for life.
