Story
Meet Princess! She is 18 months old, UTD on vaccinations, and spayed. She is lab, husky, shepherd mix. She is heart worm positive and has received initial doxycycline treatment. We would love to start full heart worm treatment on her but she will need to be in a home before that can happen. After each treatment, Princess will need to have a quiet space where she can rest. Princess is the aunt to Ginny and Gemma. She is part of 12 family members and 3 generations of dogs that Beth had been caring for on the streets. Princess is shy but loves pets and attention. She is not house trained but is very smart and could easily learn with one on one training.

Story
Named for his constant grin and tail wags, Felix is a super sweet boy who looks just like a Dingo; he could have some husky in him. The vet thinks he is about 1 year old. He weighs 50 lbs. He is now neutered, vaccinated, and house trained, has learned his new name, and the word “No.” He responds to whistling and “come” with moderate consistency. He is very friendly to other dogs and humans of all ages. He does not give kisses, ever, but loves to get hugs, snuggles, and scritches. He LOVES to run and play. He has a lot of energy (and endurance!), but isn’t hyperactive. He does well on a leash when he is walked solo, but if other dogs are around he just tries to run to greet and play with them. He especially loves rough-and-tumble wrestling, chase, and tug. He is totally happy being at the bottom of the pecking order here at my house and tolerates being herded and bossed around by one of my dogs, Raza. Surprisingly, he is very tolerant of her putting him in his place! If he isn’t playing with one or more of the other pups, he likes to get pets, nap, and keep me company. He is heartworm positive and will be treated soon. His adoption fee is $200 After reading this pet's info, if you are still interested in adopting, please fill out the online adoption application found at realgooddogrescue.com The ideal home for this Real Good Dog will have a secure fenced yard. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook!
