Story
Rhino is a friendly dog. His previous owner described him as active, playful and friendly. He`s lived with his canine friend Nike, children, cats and is crate trained. He lived with his friend Nike and does well with him but, when assessed with other dogs at the shelter we found he is a bit pushy and a domiant player and not all dogs like that. If you have another dog a meet and greet is required before adoption to ensure it`s a good fit. Please ask to meet him outside.

Story
Meet Fiona, a stunning 11-month-old, 44-lb Husky mix! Fiona is looking for an experienced forever family to help her thrive. She’s an incredibly smart, playful pup who LOVES to play fetch, chew on bones, and hang out with other medium or large dogs. While she’s slightly dominant, she gets along great with other playful pups and enjoys active homes where she can exercise.Fiona is currently working with a trainer to build her confidence, as she’s a very shy girl. She’s recommended for homes with children over 10 due to her occasional jumping and would do best with remote workers or people who are home during the day as she builds her confidence in being alone. Her foster family is generously offering 4 one-on-one training sessions to her forever family to set her up for success. Could you be the family Fiona is waiting for?Fiona is available for Meet and Greets only at this time.

Story
Aspyn is a Husky-German Sheppard mix and is 2 years old. We bought her from a family when she was 9 weeks old. She has a great temperament, calm and eager for attention. She knows most basic obedience like sit, shake, stay, lay down, spin, and leave it. However, she cannot be off leash yet. She is not yet spayed as we were considering having puppies. We can spay her if needed. We are looking for a better fit home. It would be optimal for her to be in a cooler environment due to her breed. Thanks for considering.

Story
Meet Charlie; A Loving, Well-Behaved Senior Dog Looking for a New Home Charlie is an incredible dog who has been part of my life since I adopted him in 2017, when he was 3 years old. He has been my loyal companion and has always been amazingly well-behaved. Charlie will turn 11 in January 2025, and while he is still full of love, he’s starting to show signs of his age he gets tired on walks more quickly, has some difficulty getting in and out of the car, and takes a little more time getting up. Charlie has never had any medical issues and remains a sweet, gentle soul. However, he would thrive best in a calm home without other pets or young children. I’ve recently faced the heartbreaking decision to rehome him because my toddler’s allergies and eczema flare-ups are being triggered, and I’m also expecting a new baby. Finding a loving and peaceful home where Charlie can live out his golden years happily is my top priority.

Story
Introducing Jack Frost, the spirited Husky mix bursting with energy and affection! At 2.5 years old, Frost is a bundle of joy who thrives on love and attention. He's a social butterfly, getting along with other large dogs. However, Frost would benefit from ongoing training to unleash his full potential and make him the confident and secure pup he deserves! Jack Frost is an outdoor enthusiast who adores car rides and would make an ideal running or hiking companion. Regular walks or runs are his idea of heaven! He's a powerhouse when it comes to playtime, he needs a home with ample space to run and play freely. Highly intelligent and quick to learn, Jack Frost relishes mentally stimulating activities and treats. Since he's a strong boy, he requires supervision around children and prefers a harness for walks. Jack Frost's playful nature sometimes leads to overexcitement and "playful jumps," requiring firm guidance from an alpha human to channel his competitive spirit positively. Although he's great with larger dogs and older children, Frost may need some patience and training around smaller animals. If you're seeking an energetic and loyal companion who's ready for adventure, Jack Frost could be your perfect match! ***Please reach out to Paula at spwheels1@gmail.com if you'd like to meet this special boy Jack Frost!

Story
HTH (Hank The Husky) was tied to the front gate of the rescue after we had closed for the day by his owner. So, we don't know why they didn't want to keep him anymore or any of his background information. He has been good with the females that he shares his kennel with ans pretty much ignores the boys in the kennels next to him. We don't know how he is with cats or small children as we don't have any of them here. We did get him fixed, vaccinated and will microchip him before he goes to his new home. PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis.
