Halo (A137424) is a 4-year-6-month old husky who weighed nearly 30 lbs at intake!04/12/25 This little spitfire is back yet again for not doing well with another animal in the home. Halo is looking for a home that will want to lavish her with all of their attention and not ask her to share it with anyone else. Halo has been on her best behavior in each of her previous homes. However, this most recent home had cats that did not appreciate Halo. Halo retaliated when one of the cats went after her, so now she is back again looking for her person. Please please please read the rest of Halo's write-up prior to inquiring about adoption. This sweet little dog is an absolute bundle of joy and happy to greet every single person that even breathes in her direction. If you think you could be Halo's forever home and be content with her as your sole adventure buddy, please give us a call!03/29/25 Miss Halo is back at the shelter after her most recent owners adopted a puppy yesterday. Halo does not share attention well, as you can discover by continuing to read her previous write-up. If you are looking for a single companion that wants to be the apple of your eye because you are hers, give us a call about Miss Halo!02/05/25 This pint-sized little pipsqueak is Halo! Halo arrived at the shelter because she was too energetic and demanding of attention with the new baby in the home. In the words of her prior owner, `Halo has made up her mind that she's human, a princess, and entitled to all the attention you can give and any furniture surface you occupy. This dog needs a family that wants to make her their baby and won't leave her lonely, who wants to give back the amount of attention she gives, and is willing to give her all the patience and grace.` Halo is hoping her next home does not have any other animals or children under the age of 5 because she is a shining star and not willing to let anyone take her spotlight! She was said to be gentle when playing and to be an outgoing, friendly and affectionate little girl. Halo was said to be kennel trained and will whine to go potty. In general, she was said to not mind very well and will jump fences and get into the trash if given the chance. This little dog exudes energy and positivity and was described as a wiggle worm with a short attention span. She was said to love car rides, walks, hiking, playing and snuggling. Her previous owner said you will never feel bored or unloved with Halo in your life. If you are interested in meeting this sweet little bundle of happy, please give the shelter a call!April 13, 2025, 12:36 am

Story
Koda (A137813) is a 5-year-old AK Husky mix who weighed over 70 pounds on intake! 04/12/25 Mister Koda is back at the shelter because his most recent home realized their schedule kept them too busy for a dog. Koda was said to be a great, well-behaved dog! He doesn't like to be alone but was said to settle in eventually. He can be rough when playing with other dogs, which some dogs may not take kindly too. Please keep this in mind if planning to introduce him to any. He was said to ride well in the car and to generally mind well, although he does jump on people at times. If you are interested in meeting Koda, please give us a call!03/18/25 This handsome, shy guy is Koda! Koda was surrendered to the shelter because he was not meshing well with the other animals in the home. Koda was said to have a high prey drive and would chase after the cat in the home. He was also noted to get grumpy towards the other dog in the home, which led to them having a disagreement. His prior owner did note that Koda did well with other dogs outside the home setting. He is looking for a home where he can be the only pet. Koda also has no experience around children but was said to be friendly with adults! Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with new people and animals to set him up for success! Koda did initially have some stranger danger and might do best in a home without small children or at least children who can respect boundaries. In his last home, he was said to be kennel-trained and housebroken! We encourage his next owner to bring him to a basic obedience to continue working on his manners. If you are interested in meeting Koda, please let us know! April 12, 2025, 11:04 pm

Story
Flash was recently returned because his original adopters felt that he was ‘untrainable`. When Flash arrived back to the shelter, he was very fearful and shut down. Luckily, one of our foster homes took him in and helped him become his happy self again and supported him while he overcame any traumatic feelings he had! Flash is a playful and active boy who will thrive best with having a positive outlet for his energy. In his foster home he has had the opportunity to play with other dogs and has done great. He may enjoy having a nice friend in his new home! We do suspect that he will chase small animals, including cats based on him being a playful husky! Though we do believe that Flash lived with children in his previous home, the owners did not complete his paperwork so we can not confirm that. Overall, Flash has done well with meeting new people but please keep in mind that he will need time to adapt and may still feel a little shy. Flash has proven to us that he is absolutely trainable and actually very smart! It helps that he is a people pleaser and just wants to make his people happy. Flash is potty trained and will whine at the door when he needs to go potty. He is also crate trained but was very fearful of the kennel in the shelter, so please be sure to take this process slow, until he knows that he is safe and secure! Flash walks great on a leash and knows the cues “st”, “come”, “shake” and “lay down”. Flash is such a sweet boy with a gentle soul. He has been through a lot, but we are so proud of all the progress he has made! We want nothing more than to see Flash succeed. If you feel that Flash would be a good fit for your home, we would love for you to come by and meet him! Please speak with shelter staff if you are interested in meeting Flash because he is still currently in his foster home, and we will need to schedule with his foster mom!

Story
Heather belonged to my son. He adopted her 3 years ago. She is 8 years old.. My son has recently had a major health issue which has left him with limited mobility. Therefore he is unable to take care of her. I have moved her into my home until we can find a new forever home for her. I am 88 years old and I am unable to take her for walks but can provide her with her daily needs. However, I don’t feel confident that I can continue for very long. I am looking for someone who can walk her, play with her, and love her. She soaks up love and attention. She has never destroyed or torn anything up. She eats well, but doesn’t get table food or junk.

Story
Meet Raz: Your Future Best Friend! Raz is an incredibly sweet and loving dog who is looking for a new home where he can thrive and receive the care he deserves. This good boy is very obedient, gentle, and loves kids and other dogs. He’s calm, affectionate, rarely barks, and while he had his tail amputated, you can still see the joy in his eyes and the love he has to give. He truly is a resilient pup who embraces life with a positive spirit! One important thing to know about Raz is that he has a chronic cough and requires an inhaler to help manage his condition. It’s crucial that his new family is prepared to provide him with the medical attention and support he needs. Despite this, he remains a playful and affectionate dog who loves to be showered with attention, and this condition does not affect his ability to go on walks, hikes, etc! Due to current financial constraints and our upcoming wedding, we are unable to provide Raz with the care he needs at this time.
