Story
Frank (2) showed up at our apartment as we were moving. His previous owners never claimed him and we have kept him throughout the move in hopes we could find him a suitable owner. He loves having a pack, playing outdoors, and is a big goofball. He needs owners with lots of time and energy to give, preferably who own multiple dogs as he loves making friends. He is clever, playful, and is a *huge* cuddle bug.

Story
Makita is a sweet 8 year old husky. I have had her since she was a pup, but unfortunately she does not like small children. With a 2 year old one twin baby boys, I can no longer keep her. She would do best in a single dog home. Huskies have a lot of energy, and she enjoys a back yard where she can run around.

Story
Beautiful Chance is big, beautiful, and strong. He is part Husky and part Wolf, He looks like a Wolf, He howls rather than bark. He has eyes that are Husky eyes, and two different colors. He loves to play fetch and walks well on a leash. He loves treats. He enjoys cold weather. He would be great protection. Chance will be sweet and loyal with the right owner. He needs someone who is patient, kind, and strong. Because of his size and strength we have not had him around children.

They currently weigh 14-20 pounds and are expected to mature to 60-70 pounds. Mackie wears a long, dark tan and cream coat. Minnow wears a long, light tan and cream coat. These pups are very gentle and get along wonderfully with other dogs! Mackie and Minnow are both very laid back and calm, making them the perfect addition to any home! Adopt Mackie or Minnow and let them fill your life with warmth and tranquility! (ME, 7/16/2024) LOW ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE: $250**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. Adoption fees for Hope dogs and those who have been at rescue for prolonged amounts of time are reduced to $150 plus a $100 transport fee, as notated in their listings.November 13, 2024, 3:08 pm

Story
🖤SHILOH🐾 Gentle, handsome, senior husky 🐕 After years of neglect, he’s safe in rescue & getting the care he deserves. We were told that he formally belonged to a neighbor who used to keep him on a chain and never let him in. But recently he had let him go and said he did not want him anymore. Probably because, Shiloh had a tumor growing on his underside and he did not want to be responsible. He has finished his antibiotics and steroids, and the tumor has been removed. The good news is …. It isn’t cancerous!!! And his heart and lungs, and all other x-rays were clear 🖤 True to his breed, he is vocal and full of adorable personality. He greets every human with a soft “awoooo” and lots of cuteness😍 Good with other dogs, but doesn’t need any in his forever home. He’s a bit of a loner. 🤣 In search of a yard to sunbathe in, snacks & pets from people that love him, and the opportunity to live out his golden years how he deserves 💕 If you’re interested in adopting a settled, senior boy, please consider welcoming Shiloh into your home! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
Meet Coco, a 9-month-old husky mix whose striking blue eyes helped save her from a rural animal control.  Coco’s now-foster mom recognized those icy blue eyes because she had seen them before in two brothers she had saved from the same place just a few months prior (Anyone remember Nate and his beautiful blue eyes?!?). She knew this girl had to be the sister and that she couldn’t be left behind just because she was turned in at a later date. Coco is quickly shaking off the effects of life in animal control and adjusting to life in a real home. She sleeps quietly in a crate at night as long as she’s in the same room as her human, and she hasn’t had any accidents in the house. She rides beautifully in the car. She jumps right in and has zero car sickness. She’s also great on a leash and super easy to walk.  Coco is in a foster home with dogs of all ages, and she gets along with them all splendidly. She loves to play but avoids conflict like a pro. Her brothers both went to homes with small children, so we’re sure Coco would adore children as well! She’s super friendly to everyone she meets.  Coco is both pretty and petite! Currently weighing only 35 lbs., we think Coco will top out in the low 40s. She was named Coco for her chocolate-brown coat. Her nicknames include Coco Bean and Coco Puff, with some more variations come!  Coco would be a great addition to almost any family. She’s easygoing and gets easier with each passing day. She’s super smart and a fast learner. Coco would love an active family who wants to walk her daily and take her on all their adventures. She’s well-suited to go everywhere with her new family!
