Sadly he is heartworm positive so we will have to get him treated but he can potentially be fostered during his treatment (we are also looking for a rescue partner for him).  He is good with both male and female dogs.  Very friendly, loves to play in his water bowl.   DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.  (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).   The first step is to our Adoption Application here:  https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html .   IMPORTANT – we respond to your emailed applications and queries via email back to you.  Please make sure you have either added our email  (hselco@bellsouth.net)  to your contact list or that you routinely check your SPAM folder for our response just to be safe. Story
Helllooo! My name is Big Boy and I am an almost one-year-old husky mix. I was adopted from the shelter a while back. I had a good life with my owner, but I guess she didn’t realize it takes time to have a pet in the home and it was time she just didn’t have. So she brought me back to try to find a new home. Well I am putting my best paw forward and hoping to find another great home. I have all of my vaccinations, I am heartworm negative, I have a microchip, and I have been neutered. I am a sweet boy that loves to go for runs, play in the yard, and get belly rubs! If you have the energy for a husky, then please make an appointment to meet me!

Story
Helllooooo! My name is Bernard! I bet when you saw my pretty picture you just swooned! Am I right? Yep, pretty handsome husky mix! I was picked up by Animal Control as I roamed around a motel and restaurant, at an interstate exchange! YIKES! I was super excited to hop in his truck and ride to the safety of the shelter! I was never claimed by my family and I am now ready for adoption. I am about eighteen months old. I have all of my vaccinations, I am heartworm negative, I have a microchip, and I have been neutered. If you want to adopt me, please remember I am a husky mix and you need to have a secure yard for me to play in. You know huskies….we love to run!!
