He's a very good boy who would love a gentle and compassionate place to call his own. Nilla was adopted from us but is back. Seems he might be happiest in a home that is not too busy. Slow approaches and kindness will go a long way for this agreeable mini man. Nilla has the type of hair that keeps growing so he needs to see the doggie groomer every few months to keep his hair free from painful mattings. He's a high maintenance pooch but he is worth it! Do you have a soft spot in your home and heart for this wonderful senior fellow? He is eager to be with you!

Oli is a very energetic dog, he loves to play and run up and down😊. Hi favorite games are Tug of war and Catch! He is incredibly smart. He LOVES food and will do almost anything for a treat. Ollie loves to be the center of attention and to be around people all the time! He is a very cuddly dog and loves to be held and pet. I have more photos and videos of him so please feel free to ask

At 15 years old, Hugo was dropped off for boarding in December 2023 by his owner who then never returned for him. He spent 4 months there before being turned over to the shelter as an abandoned dog. Not only is he a super senior pup, he is also diagnosed with advanced heart disease. His heart is unfortunately very large which causes him to have rapid breathing and cough spells. The last place for a dog in this condition should be the shelter. We picked him up immediately once he became available for rescue without a second thought. The stress of being in the shelter with his heart condition could have killed him.    Hugo is safe and spending every second absorbing the love and care that he deserves more than anything. He is the sweetest little guy with the cutest little trot. The pep in his step melts your heart knowing that he will never feel alone again. We do not know how much time we have with Hugo, but we will take advantage of every second that we do have. While it is a long shot, we would love to find Hugo a forever family where he will never feel abandoned again. He is literally great with everyone and everything. He doesn't bother a soul and just wants to lay around the house with you. He deserves to spend the rest of his days being a part of a loving home that will spoil him to the very end. Feel free to text the event coordinator to confirm a specific dog/cat's attendance: 703-447-4766 Meet Ollie! Ollie is about 3.5 years old and weighs 13 lbs. He came to our rescue when a local breeder could no longer care for all of her breeding dogs. Ollie is very timid and not used to being touched. He hates loud noises and moving too fast. He is slowly getting more comfortable in his foster home. Ollie will need another dog in his forever home. He likes to sit by his foster's side and learned to jump on the couch by watching the resident dogs. He is not house trained. He spent the majority of his life in a crate before coming to our rescue. Ollie would do well with dog savvy kids 11 years and up. Ollie is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from Canine and Kitties Rescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $375.00, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care.
