Story
Alfie is being surrendered by his owners.  They have a special needs child and Alfie is not great with the child.  He is a Havanese and is 8 years old and weighs 18 lbs.  He is handsome, potty trained and sweet.  He does need a quiet home with few comings and goings as strangers scare him but his current owners just put him up when company comes over that  hei doesn't know.  He is sweet and loving and a good boy. He would probably do best with a retired person(s).He warms up to women faster than men. If he is fearful and outside of the house, he usually hunches his back and his tail is between his legs. If he’s not fearful of a situation , he may sniff around and be okay. He doesn’t pull on the leash, and is friendly with dogs ##2397561##

Story
This is hard for me, but we are looking to rehome our 8 year old Havanese/Terrier mix. He is a sweet dog, but due to a change in family, he will be better off in another home with no young kids. Our furbaby is shy and takes awhile to warm up/trust people. He is fearful of strangers, but sweet, loyal, and protective of his adult family. He will require a home with someone who is patient and not a lot of comings and goings. He will do best in a home with older kids or a single/couple owner. I do not think he would be good with young kids unless he is trained a bit more and monitored. He is house trained, friendly with other dogs, and does not pull on a leash. He is a sweet dog once you get to know each other, but may be a shy and fearful initially. Special Needs: Alphie has minor gastro issues. We give him an acid reflux pill each morning in a pill pocket.
