Start the new year with a new best friend!    Ms. Riley is ready for her forever home! Riley is a 1.5 year old, 8 pound Havanese that came to us from a puppy mill. Her ideal home would have:     -A fenced in backyard! She loves running around outside as fast as she can!   -A playmate her size! She loves other dogs and playing with them!   -A patient family! Riley is still skittish with some things and is learning what a loving home is all about. She needs a family who is committed to helping her grow and continue her training!     Riley is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, crate trained and working on potty training! Hi, I’ve just recently arrived after HSDC helped rescue me from a local puppy mill who discarded me. I’m finally experiencing so many firsts like being petted, hugged and loved! I’m looking for a patient adopter to help me decompress from the mill and learn what it’s like to finally get to be a dog. How did I get here? Ohio ranks second in the nation for puppy mills, with documented violations including poor living conditions and lack of medical care for dogs. The Humane Society of the United States has identified 16 of the worst puppy mills in Ohio, where dogs suffer both physically and mentally. Recent news stories are highlighting the urgent need for industry reform, but we’re not there yet. Advocacy for better conditions and responsible breeding practices is crucial to address this ongoing issue. If you’re interested in meeting me, please reach out to HSDC!
