Story
Winston is a handsome, 2 yr old Havanese, mixed possibly with ShihTzu, who weighs 17 lbs. He has a very big, lovable personality. Winston is smart and pays attention to everything going on in the household. He is outgoing and friendly. Winston is playful, active and athletic and is doing very well on housetraining and leash walking. Although Winston is active, he is snuggly and likes being held like a baby. He needs a home where he can get plenty of exercise and playtime. His new family should enjoy and take daily walks and provide engaging stimulation. Winston would do best being an only dog. He doesn't seem to be able to read other dogs' cues. Winston wants to be wherever his foster family is and tends to park himself underfoot, so he can be a trip hazard. Winston arrived at a rural shelter as a stray so matted that we chose to sedate him to groom him for his comfort. His coat has now grown back beautifully and is low maintenance and low shed. Winston was very cooperative during his last grooming. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 2 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500October 30, 2024, 12:05 am
