Story
Say hello to petite Val!  Val entered Seventh Heaven Rescue as an owner surrender when the owner became ill and could no longer care for her pets.  Val is a Mini Dachshund/Chocolate Havanese mix.  She is a little thing at only around 9 pounds.  Val can be a little shy when first meeting someone new, however she does warm up.  She is really beginning to come out of her shell lately.  Val is crate trained - stays in it all night and for several hours during the day.  However, she doesn't go in it on her own.  She has to be placed in it, but she does well once inside the crate.  She is potty trained, but may use pee pads inside at times.  She does whimper to let you know that she needs to go out.  Val prefers dogs more her size.  She will play with them and cuddle with them, however she is very nervous around dogs bigger than her and may growl at them.  So any dogs in the home must be closer to Val's size.  Val is learning how to play with toys by watching the resident dogs play with them.  She loves treats and to cuddle in the chair for naps with her fosters.  She will need leash training as she never learned how to walk on leash.  The foster has given Val a bath and clipped her nails and said Val did very well with both.  She even was able to blow dry her fur after the bath!  The first time Val met the resident cat, she chased it.  However since then, she hasn't paid any attention to it.  The cat has jumped right up next to her, and Val has not had any reaction.  Val is a lap dog that would probably do well with a calmer environment.  She doesn't seem to like fast movements of anything bigger than herself.  Let's find the perfect home for Val!  Her adoption fee is $500 which goes towards spaying at the rescue's vet, vaccines and medical care up to adoption, microchip and costs associated with fostering. ##2280464##

Story
Say hello to adorable Minnie!  Minnie is a 2 year old mini dachshund and chocolate Havanese mix.  She came into rescue as an owner surrender with her sisters and half brothers.  Unfortunately, the owner was not able to continue to care for the pups due to illlness.  Minne is a little girl weighing only about 11 pounds.  Minnie is potty trained (although she may also use pads in the home) and crate trained.  Minnie has been very shy around people.  She wants to be in eyesight of her humans, but not so close that they can pet her.  She finds more comfort with the resident dogs, so it is requirement for her to have another dog in the home.  Minnie will need a patient adopter that will give her the space and time she will need to build up trust in her humans.  She is just starting to open up and play.  Her crate is her safe space.  She will go in her crate on her own when she feels overwhelmed.  She loves to be outside to run around and bark.  Minnie may steal things she finds on the floor, such as socks and shoes. Minnie is beginning to play with toys and to get excited for treats and food.  She has seen the resident cats and not reacted, but she has also not interacted with them.  If you feel you have the patience and love for Minnie, plus another small dog in your home to help, fill out an application.  Let's show this little girl that the world is not so bad!!  Minnie's adoption fee is $500 which goes towards spaying at the rescue's vet, vaccines and medical care up to adoption, microchip and costs associated with fostering. ##2280455##
