Bella came into our lives at six months old in 2015, when I promised a colleague going through IVF that I would care for her. Since then, Bella has been family. She has been raised with love, patience, and care and is well-trained, gentle, clean, and deeply affectionate. She listens, understands boundaries, and forms strong bonds with those who love her. Today, I am a single father to a young child with autism, and my time is fully devoted to his care, therapies, and daily needs. As difficult as this is, I can no longer give Bella the time and attention she truly deserves. Hermey is a 1-year-and-2-month-old Havanese mix weighing about 13 pounds, and he’s just as sweet as he is adorable. This little guy is a total goofball with a heart of gold who loves people and enjoys soaking up attention once he feels comfortable. Hermey can be a bit shy around other dogs at first, but he’s making great progress and learning that new canine friends aren’t so scary after all. He’s a smart boy who is working hard on his house, leash, and crate training—and he’s doing really well! Hermey’s story is a special one. He was rescued after being placed on the euthanasia list at the shelter, and thanks to one of our amazing fosters, he got a second chance at life. Now, he’s ready for a loving home where he can continue to play and be the sweet companion he was always meant to be. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Patty is a 2-year-old Havanese mix with a playful spirit and a growing sense of confidence. She came to us with a very matted coat, so she’s sporting a short haircut for now—but once her soft curls grow back, she’ll be looking like a little superstar! Patty is settling into her foster home and learning new things every day. Her previous home loved her, but didn’t have much time for training, so she’s still working on some basics. She’s leash trained, nearly housebroken, and absolutely loves toys—especially stealing socks, so guard your laundry! She’d do best in a home with no kids, and we’re still getting to know how she feels about other dogs. We’ll continue to update as we learn more. Patty is current on vaccines, heartworm negative, and will be spayed soon. With a little time and patience, she’s going to make a wonderful companion. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1.
