THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. "Hello there! My name is Sissy May-bee, but my foster mom calls me Mabel. I am a gentle young lady with a quiet nature who lived my entire life up to now in a small enclosure with only other dogs for companionship. In my forever home I require a small playful dog who can show me the ropes and to explore a secure outdoor space. I'm an outdoor girl at heart and love to spend time sniffing and sunbathing, but sure do like my fluffly bed indoors too! Sissy is learning to trust the human caregivers in her life and will come into bed in the morning for a snuggle, then is off to begin her day following her foster mom from room to room. She has a sweet temperament and will warm up to her new family with time and patience. Her house training skills are at 75%. Please, no small children in my forever home as they move too quickly and frighten me. Also, I need a securely fenced yard as I'm not confident enough to potty on leash and am a flight risk if I ever get away from you. The suggested adoption donation for Sissy May-bee is a minimum of $125 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information

Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Darling Riley spent her life churning out puppies for sale at the breeder's facility. Never knowing life indoors in a loving home, she is now safe and adjusting to living with soft dog beds, warm blankets, and gentle touches. Never again to be viewed as a commodity! Riley is shy due to her former life of seclusion and will do best in a quiet, low-key home with another gentle dog for a companion. While she is crate trained, Riley is still too fearful to learn about leash walking and will require a securely fenced yard in her forever home as she is a flight risk when startled. Not really a "lap dog", Riley is still learning that humans are kind, hands reaching towards her are always gentle, and there is no pressure on her to adjust or conform. She needs and deserves to be loved just as she is! You will be rewarded 100 times over with her gradual trust and perpetual love. Riley has been spayed, microchipped, had her teeth cleaned, is parasite and heartworm free, and is up to date on vaccinations. Our vet discovered several small mammary masses which were removed under anesthesia and the lab results were benign. She is ready for retirement folks, so please consider giving this former working girl a soft landing! Story
Tanner is an 8-year-old female Havanese who was surrendered to us with several other dogs after their breeder could "no longer care for them" and was looking to downsize their operation. She’s a true lap dog—gentle, affectionate, and happiest when cuddled up. While shy in new places, she quickly gains confidence and enjoys socializing at home. She walks well on a leash, rides great in the car, and does best with another dog in the home. Tanner is still working on potty training and wears a diaper in the meantime. The diaper typically does a good job of deterring her from peeing in the house. She isn’t a fan of kennels but does well with baby gates and sleeps in bed with her humans. Watch Tanner walk on a leash: https://youtu.be/7madqw6F7BY House trained: Working on potty training. Using a diaper while working on training, and tolerates the diaper well.Leash trained: Yes, walks well on a leash and loves going for walks. Sometimes will bark at other dogs while on walk.Kennel trained: No, hates the kennel. We use baby gates to keep her contained in an area when we're not home. She sleeps in bed with us at night.Rides well in a car: Yes, loves car rides.Good with other dogs: Yes - Tanner thrives with the comfort and companionship of other dogs, so we're looking for her to go to a home with a doggy friend.Good with cats: Not sure, but I imagine she'd do fine with cats based on her demeanor.Good with young children (under 10): Yes, as long as they respect her space (fostered with young children)Shy or confident: She was shy at first and is in a new environment, but she gained her confidence and is social when we have visitors. So shy in new places, but confident in her house. She is totally a lap dog and such a cuddler.Barks: YesApartment qualified: No, due to barking.Health concerns or special needs: Tanner recently had a dental cleaning where most of her teeth were removed (she feels much better!)  Tanner is a female Havanese who was born on 2-22-2017. This puppy/dog is fostered in a private home in Lincoln. The adoption fee is $300 which helps cover the cost of vetting procedures. Adoptable pets will have received age-appropriate vaccines and dewormings, a microchip, heartworm test (if applicable) and a spay/neuter. If you’re interested in adopting this puppy/dog, please submit an inquiry or email BraveAnimalRescue@gmail.com to ask about our adoption process (please check your spam or junk email if you do not hear back from us within a few business days). We are 100% volunteer staffed and will respond to your email as soon as possible. After you have submitted an and been approved, we will set up a meet and greet between you and the puppy/dog.
