Story
Somebody get me out of this old age home! That’s what Boomer is saying about his stay here at Four-Legged Forgotten Oldies. Boomer is a very healthy, playful, and active 10-year-old Havanese/Terrier mix. While the other dogs who live here are happy to nap the day away, Boomer loves to run and go for long walks. He really needs to find a great new home who can give him the time and exercise he would like. Boomer came to us after he was surrendered by his owner to the shelter. His owner said he didn’t like children, so adults-only homes please. During Boomer’s behavior test at the shelter, he showed signs of resource guarding for food and toys. We have seen some evidence of that when he is around the other dogs. We are hoping to find the ideal home for Boomer. We learned that his previous owner was physically and verbally abusive to him. As a result, Boomer can be fearful at times. If he thinks he’s going to be scolded, he retreats to the sofa or a corner. He needs a new home that will be patient and loving with him, as well as knowledgeable on how to deal with his behaviors. Boomer is smart. He knows how to sit, stay, and come, and also gives kisses on command. He really wants to be a loving, trusting dog. He has come a long way since he arrived here last month. Are you the new person he is looking for to give him his happy, forever after? FLFO requires a home visit therefore adopters must be within 40 miles of Baldwin MD.

Story
If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Darla, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am a little timid and nervous because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me and are not going to hurt me. That is something I have not experienced so far in my life. When I arrived at the veterinarian's office, I really like all of the positive attention that I was receiving. I should come out of my shell pretty quickly once I am in a loving home. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello there! My name is Lola, and I’m here to steal your heart! I’m a sweet, loving girl who thrives on cuddles, lap time, and  playtime. After spending much of my life in a crate, I’ve adjusted beautifully to house life and I’m ready to share my joy with a loving family. I’m not just a pretty face; I’m also a well-mannered companion! I’ve mastered leash manners, come when called, and I know my name. Whether we’re out for a stroll or snuggling on the couch, I’m always eager to please. Speaking of the couch, that’s my favorite spot! There’s nothing I love more than curling up next to you, enjoying some quality cuddle time. I’m also a big fan of bones and treats—oh boy, do I love food! I’m potty trained and will do just about anything for a tasty reward. While I can handle being in a crate for short periods, my past has made me crave a family that can spend plenty of time with me, showering me with love and attention.  f you are interested in adding me to your family, please fill out an application! www.kgarl.org Adoption information : www.kgarl.org  Adoption Fee: $500 Adoption Fee Includes :   *Rabies Vaccine  *Distemper Vaccine  *Bordetella Vaccine  *Spay *Microchip with lifetime registration  *Heartworm Test *Ehrlichiosis Test  *Lyme Disease Test *Anaplasmosis Test *General Wellness Check by Licensed Veterinarian *Current on Heartworm  Preventer  *Current on Flea and Tick MedsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 12, 2024, 7:17 am
