Story
Hi, I'm Rose! I'm a delicate 2-year-old Havanese weighing in at just 12 pounds, and I'm on a journey to find a loving forever home. I've got a friendly nature, but I'm still learning to trust humans. Right now, I'm a bit shy when it comes to seeking attention and I'm not quite comfortable with being petted yet. Grooming has been a bit of a challenge, but with every positive human interaction, I'm getting braver and more confident.Being carried makes me a little stiff and uncomfortable, but don't worry - I'm working on it! I'm much more comfortable around my fellow furry friends and get along splendidly with other dogs. In fact, I feel much more at ease with them. I'm quite energetic and absolutely adore splashing around in our doggie pool.I'm also learning how to walk on a leash, so a little patience and guidance will go a long way in helping me master this skill. Whether I'm the only dog in the household or have a dog sibling, I'd be perfectly happy. I'm learning to trust humans more each day, and I know that with patience, love, and understanding, I'll soon blossom into a confident and affectionate companion. Will you be the one to help me on this journey and share in my growth? I promise, the reward of seeing me come out of my shell will be worth it!--Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
