With a name like Shiloh, you might expect a wise, old soul—but this little 12-pound Havanese-Poodle mix is still learning about the world, and she’s doing it one pawstep at a time! At just 1-2 years old, she’s the perfect balance of playful and snuggly, and with her non-shedding coat, she’s a great match for anyone who prefers a dog that won’t leave a trail of fur behind. Of course, with great fluff comes great responsibility—Shiloh will need regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best. A Shy Start, But a Big Heart When Shiloh first arrived in her foster home, she was nervous and unsure, growling from her crate at the other dogs. But within a day, she had chosen her best friend—Rhyme, her foster sister—and began following her everywhere, copying her every move. Now, she adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a confident canine friend to help show her the ropes. Shiloh is affectionate and loves to cuddle, but she’s also still figuring out which humans she trusts. She follows her foster mom everywhere, always wanting to be close, but if you call her while standing up, she might cower at first. With patience and love, she’s learning that people are pretty great—especially when they’re sitting down, because that’s when she’s suddenly your best snuggle buddy! The Daily Life of Shiloh Morning: Breakfast is served at 5 AM on weekdays (yes, she’s an early riser!) and a little later on weekends. Daytime: If her foster mom is home, she’s hanging out on the couch. If she leaves, Shiloh goes into her crate—she doesn’t love being left alone yet but settles in with a toy. Evening: Playtime, dinner around 6-7 PM, and then more lounging, playing with toys, or following her favorite humans and dogs around. Bedtime: Shiloh loves to sleep in bed with her foster mom (though she’s also been known to mistake pillows for potty pads—she’s working on it!). Quirky & Cute – What Makes Shiloh Special She’s learning to be brave—she’s not a fan of the leash yet, but she does better when walking with another dog for confidence. She loves toys and chewing on nylabones, though fetch is still a bit of a mystery to her. She’s working hard on potty training and has learned to use a doggy door! However, she has some unique potty preferences—like peeing on a deflated pool ring or a tarp (hey, a girl’s gotta have a favorite spot!). She has the cutest big feet, a fluffy, low-shedding coat, and an adorable paw-smack move when she wants all the attention. Puppy Antics – The Fun (and Chaos) of a Young Dog As a young pup, Shiloh is still figuring things out—like where it’s okay to potty, how to walk on a leash, and that not everything is a chew toy (though she’s actually pretty good about sticking to her own toys!). Puppies need patience, structure, and a good sense of humor. You may wake up to find she’s decided your blanket is the perfect bathroom spot, or you might catch her squeezing her head into the food bowl at the same time as another dog—sharing, but making sure she doesn’t miss out! With training, love, and another dog to guide her, Shiloh will grow into a wonderful, confident companion. The Perfect Home for Shiloh Shiloh would do best in a home with a friendly, confident dog to help her feel safe and show her how to be brave. She’s sweet and gentle, making her a great fit for a family with dog-savvy kids. She needs someone willing to work on her leash skills and continue building her confidence, and in return, she’ll be the most devoted little shadow you could ask for. If you’re ready for a pup who will adore you, entertain you with her quirky habits, and grow into the perfect companion, Shiloh is waiting to meet you! February 18, 2025, 3:19 am
