She’s especially cautious around strangers and prefers to keep her distance, often running to the other side of the room when someone approaches. Though she rarely interacts with her foster mom’s 4-year-old granddaughter and tends to run away when approached, Peanut is never aggressive—she doesn’t hiss or swat; she simply chooses to retreat to her safe space. Peanut gets along well with other cats and enjoys sharing a bed or snuggling up with her feline friends. She’s had limited exposure to dogs but shows mild curiosity rather than fear. Her ideal home would be a calm, quiet environment with adults or older children who understand her need for patience and space. Peanut is making slow but steady progress in gaining confidence. She’s starting to realize she doesn’t always need to run away. Sometimes, she’ll stay perched on her cat climber, watching her foster mom curiously instead of immediately darting off. On occasion, she’s even leaned in to sniff a hand and has allowed a gentle pet or two, but these moments are rare and delicate. Peanut needs an adopter who understands that building trust with her will take time, patience, and celebrating the small victories along the way.
