Story
Rocky is a sweet and gentle soul looking for his forever home! This charming boy came to POUNCE after a kind community member brought him to a local vet clinic for TNR. When he tested positive for FIV, the vet recommended euthanasia, given the ethics behind releasing an FIV+ feline back outdoors. Thankfully, we saw the potential in Rocky and decided to give him a second chance at life as a house cat—and we’re so glad we did!
Rocky is not feral at all; he’s a loving and affectionate companion who adores cuddling and being near his humans. He gets along well with other cats, making him a great addition to a multi-cat household, but he would prefer a home without dogs. We are comfortable adopting Rocky to a home with other cats, as he is not aggressive towards them. FIV is passed through deep bite wounds. He has been living with FIV+ and Fiv- cats since joining us. If Rocky’s future adopter does have other cats, they will have to be on the same page, as while the risk is low, there is always a risk of FIV transmission to other cats since Rocky does still have all of his teeth.
We do recommend Rocky have a diet without chicken, as we recently discovered he appears to have a chicken allergy.
Despite his FIV+ status, Rocky is healthy and happy, ready to bring joy and warmth to your life. If you’re looking for a snuggly friend who will fill your days with love, Rocky is the perfect match for you.
Rocky comes neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped (including registration). His adoption fee is $85.
Transport is available to approved adopters throughout the PNW!
If you think Rocky could be a good fit for your home, the first step is an application!
