Story
Hello! We’re Winsta (5-year-old female) and Opal (1.5-year-old male). We’re believed to be a mother-son pair and were rescued by a kind Samaritan after our family left us behind when they moved. We love making biscuits, cozying up on your lap, “sharing” your bed, and watching the resident pigeons from the windowsill (though we really wish our foster parents could have one of those cool window bird feeders). While technically out of reach, we haven’t shown a strong interest in inspecting any of the houseplants (or high areas in general, for that matter). We’re well-fed and at an optimal weight, but that doesn’t stop us from trying to guilt our foster parents into thinking we’re starving. It’s worked twice so far, but they seem to have caught on.
Winsta: Despite my small stature, I inhale and put away my Fancy Feast at a rate that would perplex a physicist. This made my foster mom nervous (something about carpeting?), but I’ve shown her I can keep it down (I was also VERY vocally opposed to her attempts to pace me with smaller portions). I love pretending the floor is lava as I make my way across the apartment, leaping from furniture to furniture. My favorite place to be is the papasan chair, which I sometimes share with Opal, but other times I let out a long groan when I want me-time.
Opal: Privacy? Not part of my vocabulary. Personal space? Never heard of her. I feel and make myself at home the minute I step foot inside. My favorite things are draw strings, lasers, and your attention. If you stop petting me, I’ll forcefully throw my body at you or headbutt your hand like a goat until you relent. I love doing whatever you’re doing and walking wherever you’re (about to be) walking, so if I had a favorite song, it’d probably be something like “Every Breath You Take” by The Police or “We Go Together” from Grease.
From Our Foster Parents: Despite all of the recent stress and changes in their lives, these two are so trusting, gentle, and eager for your companionship and their forever home! We are both absolutely amazing with children and adore the kids in our foster home! Winsta is more timid than Opal, but with the right introductions, we think they’d both adapt well to other cats, and respectful dogs.
