Story
Merrimack may be small, but her story is mighty. At just 4 months old, this stunning black kitten is what we call a Spirit Kitten. She didn’t grow up with much human interaction, so the world still feels a bit big and scary to her. With time, patience, and a loving home, Merrimack will begin to trust and bond deeply with her people. She’ll be your quiet shadow, your loyal little friend – but she’ll most likely stay out of sight when visitors stop by.Merrimack would thrive in a calm, predictable environment with older, cat-savvy teens who understand her shy nature. She’d also benefit from a confident feline friend to show her the ropes and teach her that life isn’t so scary after all. With the right cat companion, Merrimack might just find her courage! She could also adjust to a quiet, older dog who knows how to respect a kitten’s space. If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in earning the trust of a cautious kitten, Merrimack could be the perfect match for you. She’ll remind you that love is something we build together – one gentle moment at a time. Are you ready to welcome this little Spirit Kitten into your heart and home? Merrimack is waiting for someone who sees her for who she truly is – a diamond in the rough, ready to shine. Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4 (closed Mondays). If you are interested in this pet, please review our adoption process at www.lowellhumanesociety.org/adoption/#process so you`re prepared to adopt & stop by the shelter with the required information to take home this pet.Note that many cats do not reach full size until they are about a year and a half old. Story
Meet perfect, popular Pickles! This handsome 17-year-old gentleman with his distinguished salt and pepper coat was adopted from the shelter back when he was about four years old. He lived a wonderful life with his owner, who unfortunately was forced to surrender him when he needed to move to assisted-living, and unfortunately, couldn’t bring him along. So now, Pickles finds himself back here, patiently waiting to be loved and cared for again. All the staff and volunteers love this sweet, gentle, friendly boy who would make a perfect companion. We believe he can live with respectful children, but are unsure how he may be with another cat or a dog, so please see staff if you have other animals in your home. Do you have room in your home and heart to offer this special boy a chance for the care and love he’s so richly deserves at this time in his life when he needs a friend the most? Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4 (closed Mondays). If you are interested in this pet, please review our adoption process at www.lowellhumanesociety.org/adoption/#process so you`re prepared to adopt & stop by the shelter with the required information to take home this pet.
