Story
Blankey is a shy but easygoing cat who enjoys his own company but is slowly learning to trust people. His favorite spot to relax is under the bed, where he feels safe and secure, but once he warms up to you, he’ll allow a few gentle pets. While he may seem reserved during the day, he comes to life at night—Blankey is a true night owl, often entertaining himself with zoomies and playing with his toys solo. Independent and low-maintenance, he’s the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a cat that does things on his own terms. With a little patience and time, Blankey is sure to blossom into a loving and playful friend.

Story
Twelve is a gentle, sweet senior cat who is slowly coming out of her shell and learning to trust again. After losing her owner and finding herself in a new environment, she was understandably shy at first, preferring the safety of hiding under the bed. But in just a few days, she’s begun to explore her surroundings and seek out affection. While she’s not particularly playful, she enjoys the company of people and happily asks for pets. At 12 years old, Twelve is looking for a calm, loving home where she can spend her golden years feeling safe and cherished. She may take a little time to adjust, but once she does, she’ll be a wonderful, affectionate companion.

Story
Hi, my name is Topaz and I am about 10 years old.  Me and my 2 litter mates were strays found in the window well of a house during a rain storm when we were about 8 weeks old.  The homeowner did not want us to drown and brought us to BCHS.  I have never been very sociable or outgoing as a kitten.  I usually hide when people enter the room.  I still am very shy and timid.  I need a person who will be patient with me and give me as much time as I need to acclimate to a new environment. Sometimes I prefer interacting with younger people instead of adults. I get along with all the cats I live with in a community room at the shelter.  I am available for immediate adoption.  My adoption fee is waived.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me please complete an adoption profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds or returns is available upon request. October 24, 2024, 4:29 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Becca and I'm about 4 years old. I was rescued as a pregnant stray and brought to Bond County Humane Society so I could find a loving fur-ever home. After a few weeks my 6 kittens were born, and now we are all ready to be adopted. I am a pretty dilute calico. I am very laid back. I am rather shy and still getting used to being held and petted. I am considered Special Needs because when I was tested for FeLV/FIV, I tested negative for FeLV, but positive for FIV. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is comparable to AIDS in people. It is transmitted to other cats by scratching or biting. There is not a vaccine available to provide immunity to other cats so I need to be the only cat in the household or live with other FIV positive cats. I can have a normal life expectancy of a cat. The most important things for me are a low stress environment, good quality food and regular veterinarian care. It is extremely important for me to stay healthy.  There are other FIV positive cats in my room, and I get along well with them. I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is $20.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at  www.bondcohumane.org .  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.March 10, 2025, 2:34 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Dumplin and I'm almost 2 years old.  I was found with my mother and siblings as a stray when I was 5 days old and taken into a Bond County Humane Society foster home for several weeks. My foster mom said I am shy and timid, so it takes me a while to get used to new people. Now I live in the shelter with some other adult cats. When the mood strikes me I like to play with toys. I like to play with the tower of jingle balls. I think the furry toys are fun to carry around!  I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee has been sponsored by an individual.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at  www.bondcohumane.org .  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.
