Story
Mocha is undoubtedly the most beautiful kitten from his toasty brown medium length hair to green eyes, he is one UNIQUE kitty! Havana brown kitties hardly ever come through rescue, but what luck for us; he is a mix of Havana and something equally delicious! Mocha is just the sweetest little love who talks to his foster mom and just wants to snuggle with her all the time. He revels in snuggles, affection and pets. He is on her lap at couch time and sleeps next to her or on her at night. Although he's grown up with cats and dogs, and could live with them IF they were calm or chill, his BEST home would be a quiet one with calm teens or no kids and as the ONLY pet. He just wants to be the king of his own castle! He will literally SPOIL you with affection.  adoption fee $300Currently in a foster home, you can set up a day to come meet this kitty (on Saturdays during adoption event hours). Please give us at least a week's notice via wtfnapa@gmail.com or (707) 258-2287 so our volunteers have time to answer messages and get back to you. Thank you!  Cats/kittens come spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and more with an adoption fee/donation to Whiskers, Tails and Ferals in Napa, CA.      Meet Kylash -  These sweet babies have cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), a condition where the cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls coordination and balance, is underdeveloped from birth. But here’s the good news: CH won’t require any additional care beyond what a normal cat needs! These kittens can run, play, and cuddle just like any other furry friend. Kabyki (grey tabby) is a super sweet boy who loves nothing more than snuggling up close to you. Despite his mild to severe CH, he’s full of playful energy that will brighten your days. Kylash (black and white with a bow tie nose) has extremely mild CH and is the ultimate cuddler. She loves cuddles before napping and playtime, and she’s notorious for stealing warm chairs and lounging on window sills for the view and warmth. Both kittens are medically cleared and fixed, ready to bring endless love and joy to their new families. If you’re interested in adopting one (or two!) of these precious babies, fill out an application at www.beourpet.org/adoptions.php. Story
CoCoPuff is a 3-4 year old spayed female Siamese street cat who showed up at our founder's medical office as a feral cat about 2 years ago and was trapped-spayed-released. She decided to stay there and lived in the bushes surrounding the parking lot. The entire office 'adopted' her and provided her with a name, outdoor shelter, regular food, flea medication, fresh water and food.   And yes, she does know her name and meows to it but it probably can be changed anyway     Over the last 6-8 months, CoCoPuff has decided that she likes the good life and actually likes humans. She is venturing into the building (and is allowed to hang out in one of the offices). She likes being petted, demands attention from her favorite people and even stands up and taps them on the lap and 'yells' at them if she is not getting her demands met.     Because of this, we have decided to try to find CoCoPuff a home of her very own. Her ideal home would be a quiet and safe environment where she could have access to an enclosed porch or catio because she does enjoy the outside but would need to do this safely. She takes some time to warm up to new people and so she would need someone who is gentle, patient and loving with her and would give her the time to do this. Once she loves you though, she is obsessed.   Our founder (her current servant says this)   CoCoPuff adopted the provider who had my office before me and a condition of employment was that I accept that she was allowed to come in and sit on her throne (cat bed) on the days that I am in the office. My entire office provides her with food, catnip, toys, fresh water, wet and dry food and shelter. Apparently in the last 6-8 months, she has allowed people to start petting her and has ventured inside the building to sit inside the room that became my private office. When I was hired, I became her servant. She demands attention now and wants to be petted and loved and talked to. She is very vocal to the point where my Telehealth patients hear her on calls and laugh. I have a dog at home who is NOT cat-friendly and cannot adopt her myself and we have not been successful with our patients and staff in finding her an appropriate home, so we are posting her through the rescue.     The office has decided that we would like to find her a REAL home before it gets cold and rainy even though she does have a fabulous outdoor shelter and inside access. She recently has been getting beaten up by some new cats that have moved into the neighborhood (hence the scarring on her nose that is resolving) so she is spending more time inside the building but is very unhappy about not having some outside access.   She is using the litterbox inside and adores the water fountain. She thinks wet food is the best invention on the planet.     She has been getting beaten up by new cats who have moved into the neighborhood (hence the scarring on her face which is resolving) and so she is currently afraid of them BUT in the past co-existed just fine with other street cats. We think she would do okay with another cat or two in these situations   1. Your cat/s are calm, quiet and would mostly ignore her at first and she has a place to retreat to if she is scared initially 2. You can separate her from your other cats until she acclimates no matter how long that takes   As far as dogs, we feel that the only situation where she may be able to tolerate a dog is if you have a very calm, very quiet, very cat-savvy dog who will not bother her at all and if they develop a relationship at all, it will be on CoCoPuff's terms OR you have a complete separation of your household that never mixes   So we know it is a big ask to find a quiet, patient home who ideally has a screened in porch, sunroom or catio who will give CoCoPuff a gentle place to live and be patient with her for a few weeks or months until she decides that you too are her servant   CoCoPuff is spayed, FIV/FeLv negative and parasite free, Before she goes to a new home she will have her shots updated and be microchipped. She was a street cat who was TNR'd so her ear is tipped and it is obvious -- if this aesthetic bothers you, then CoCoPuff is not the cat for you. And before you come for us, our veterinarian did not do the surgery -- it was an unknown TNR group outside of our area.   CoCoPuff is currently located in Yuba City, CA (40 miles North of Sacramento) HOWEVER we can get her to multiple other areas so please do not let this limit your decision. Due to her gentle nature, we do not think long transports are reasonable but we will entertain requests if the perfect home is out there. We can easily get her to Sacramento, SF Bay Area, Santa Rosa Areas and can discuss other areas for amazing people who can give her the right home.   If you are interested in helping this sweet girl who deserves the best, please send us an email to beourpet@gmail.com GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: Yes, we think so Non-Shedding?: No Good with cats?: Yes, we think so Good with dogs?: Unknown  Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: ADOPTION FEE WAIVED FOR ALL ADOPTERS Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 12 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee.
