Story
Meet Meekio!Meekio is a sweet old kitty who enjoys affection and is quite playful for his age. He loves to chase wand toys and curl up in laps. Meekio is prone to becoming overstimulated and hissing and very rarely may swat. He would be best with an adopter who will be mindful of his body language to know when he has had too much attention. He will thrive best in an adult-only home.Keep your new family member safe and consider investing in a catio or "cat-proofing" your balcony/deck. Leash-training, or letting your cat tag along in a pet backpack, are other safe options. Alternatively, you can bring the outside in with strategically placed bird-feeders and pollinator plants!***Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Meekio's person? Apply today!TIP: We strongly suggest all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Leaving these questions empty inhibits our ability to make the best match possible, and drastically effects the likelihood of receiving a call back.https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting! Some animals may not be available for public viewing due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kittens are not available for viewing as they are often in foster homes for health & safety reasons. Due to the high number of applications, we will ONLY be contacting select individuals to further review their interest. While we do our best to let applicants know whether they've been selected or not, the center is extremely busy! If you do not hear back within a week, it's likely the animal has already found a forever home. Phone inquires regarding the status of your application cannot always be prioritized.Animals cannot be held for potential adopters for more than 24 hours without a legitimate reason. Story
Meet Cricket!Cricket is the perfect blend of affectionate and independent. Highly curious and very confident, she would likely do well living alongside a calmer dog, but would prefer being the sole feline. She thrives in the presence of humans and is very much a "people cat." Homes with respectful, animal-loving children would also be perfect for her. ***Keep your new family member safe and consider investing in a catio or "cat-proofing" your balcony/deck. Story
Meet the cuddliest boy, Twilight! This vocal sweetheart is eagerly awaiting his forever home -- could you be the perfect match? Here's what a former foster had to say about him:"Although the shyest of his litter, he still does love snuggles -- he just needs a bit more time to warm up to you. He's the first to run and hide if something scares him, but when he's feeling calm, he will play like a crazy kitty! Total purr and cuddle machine. Loudly yells for attention and pats."It should be noted that Twilight displayed inappropriate urination in his previous foster home, likely due to the presence of other cats (he has not had any accidents since his return to shelter). Although he got along well with them, it would be in Twilight's best interest if he went to a home free of other cats or dogs. At least for the time being.***Keep your new family member safe and consider investing in a catio or "cat-proofing" your balcony/deck. Leash-training, or letting your cat tag along in a pet backpack, are other safe options.
