Story
Winnie is a loving 10-month-old girl who had been adopted as a puppy here at DHS. Prior to DHS, she came from TX. Best guess of her breed as a puppy was Catahoula and Wire Haired Terrier due to some of her siblings having longer facial hair. But, as an adult, she looks like a Greyhound mix! Of course breed is purely a guess when we do not know parents, but she sure is beautiful! Winnie is house-trained and walks well on a leash. Winnie enjoys the dog park and has been around cats but does still play roughly. Winnie has done well with children she has met, but we recommend older children due to resource guarding. Winnie's prior owners say she does get grumpy when she has food/toys. Winnie is very high-energy, and does need a consistent schedule to help her thrive and not be destructive when left alone. Winnie has had basic obedience training and does know multiple commands. She can be timid when meeting new people, so slow greets are recommended. Winnie loves squeaky toys and playing tug! Winnies family cannot keep her due to relocating and Winnie's high energy for apartment living.“I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org.
