Story
Meet Helen! This lovely lady and her daughter Lady came to us from St Thomas Humane Society. Helen is an adult and we believe she is between 3-5 years old. Helen is a shy elegant girl that loves her daughter and loves playing with puppies. She is house & crate trained, spayed and current on vaccines. Helen would love to find a quiet adult home with a fenced in back yard. We would love to find a home for her and Lady together since they do love each other. These Ladies are the sweetest, they just need time to warm up to new people. Can you give a pair of Lovely Ladies a chance ? www.pickyourpaw.org for an adoption application

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Broadway Johnny was recently relinquished due in part to separation anxiety. He is in our Prison Foster Program and doing very well. He needs to be with another greyhound due to his separation anxiety.10/25/2016 Prison Handler Update:'Johnny is very calm (when not left alone). He knows how to sit and lay down nicelyHe will only use the bathroom outsideHe listens well when told to do something.'____________________________________________________Original PostingBroadway Johnny is a very handsome boy who is very sweet and friendly.  This boy is only 17 months old but has a nice maturity about him.  He readily leans up against the person who is next to him.  He walks nicely on leash.  He was described by the person in Florida from who we got him as a 'sweet goofy young'un'.  He is one of those 'mooshy' boys that we have come to love.  Johnny is 17 months old and although he loves people, no cats, please.Update by Prison Inmate who is her primary handler in the Prison Foster Program:'I think my dog would be great to adopt for several reasons such as he is easy going and docile.  He has good qualities such as being very friendly, not barking aimlessly, and good house etiquette.  Johnny can make a great addition to a family.'Foster Update 4/3/32015Broadway Johnny--He is just a baby, he turns 2 at the end of April.  Johnny loves to be with people and enjoys the company of other dogs.  He is always happy to go out side and play with toys.  Johnny will need to be adopted into a family with another dog.  Johnny would be very happy if he could snuggle with other dogs.  He is so sweet and just wants to please.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 1:27 pm

Good with cats,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hopper is now almost 5 years old and remains in a foster home where she is very comfortable and settled. Hopper remains 'Hopperish' - she has bursts of extreme energy which consists of jumping and pawing, followed by typical greyhound settled behavior. Hopper continues to love stuffies and her food, and is clean in the house. Hopper is sometimes wary of people and can be growly towards the other dogs in her foster home. Original PostingM's Free Hopper is a very pretty little girl. She is friendly and playful when she feels comfortable and secure. She likes to snuggle and to bury her head into your lap or legs. She walks very nicely on leash. Hopper likes people and other dogs.  This 2 year old is a sibling to Free Business 'Billy' and Free Dara. She turned 2 in August and is cat tolerant with supervision.Foster Update 6/26/2017 Hopper will be 4 years old in August, 2017 and is currently in a foster home. She is a unique greyhound girl who is active and interactive. She loves her stuffy toys, is a good eater and is housebroken. Hopper is often very enthusiastic and would do best in a home without small children. Hopper at times can be growly with the other dogs, so close supervision is required. She requires a calm, authoritative owner who can deal with Hopper at her best (and sometimes worst). Original Foster Update: Free Hopper is looking out for her forever home. She is not only beautiful but so very sweet. She is very well behaved and gets along with my 4 cats and her small dog friends. She loves belly rubs and has the most adorable little hop when excited. She also smiles when happy. Inmate Handler Update 1/13/2016:'Hopper is a very interesting girl. She is loving and thinks that she is a princess and can also sometimes be a little bossy.  Her personality is one of a kind.  Not only that but her coat has a very black sheen to it that gleams when in the light.  A coat that is also very soft and a delicate frame. Hopper is great on the leash and does not use the bathroom indoors and loves to play.'M's Free Hopper is back with GFNJ as it was just not a good match. She is in a foster home and doing just great. She's young and learns quickly. She ignores the cats in the foster home, has easily mastered the stairs, crates easily, has no space issues and corrects very easily with a firm 'Hey'.This young 2 year old is looking for her forever home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 1:27 pm

He is back in his foster home awaiting his forever home.________________________________Original PostingFrankton Tye whose call name is 'Tye' is a very handsome boy who recently arrived from Ireland. GFNJ is happy to welcome him to our family. He is very friendly, affection and just sweet. Tye is calm and quite an Irish gentleman. He walks very nicely on leash. Tye is a mid-sized boy. He is 3 years old. He is in a foster home with greyhounds and a small dog and doing very well with them. He is cat workable in that he does show interest in the resident cat and would do best without a cat.  Due to the high travel and other costs involved in bringing Tye from Ireland to GFNJ, the adoption fee is $500.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 1:27 pm
