Story
Bobby is a very smart and very beautiful greyhound mix. He is estimated to be about 6 years old. He is shy when he meets a human initially, but then warms up and loves the people he knows, showering them with kisses. He needs a smart owner who will give him a job. We have been working with him daily and he has become decent on leash and he knows some commands. He lived with children in his previous home and with another greyhound mix. The kennel volunteers really adore him but our adopters are not interested in this mixed breed boy. Available for adoption through Greyhounds Only, Inc., Adoption and Rescue. Buster is an expert fence jumper, so he requires an extra tall fence or to be leash walked. Story
Max is one of the most fun and charismatic dogs you will ever meet! He truly is a shining star filled “to the max” with love, affection and positive energy! Max is a very active dog who likes to have a good time. He loves his walks and keeping everyone on their toes! He unfortunately would not suit an older person or children too young, as he can be quite strong on leash, however he is equally as good at laying on the couch and dispensing smooches! Max is a funny guy; his favorite form of playtime is playing dress up with hats and sunglasses and striking poses for the camera! Too handsome not to be a model! Max is also a very social boy. He has met children on a few occasions and gets along well with them but has never lived with them. He gets along well with other dogs, particularly other female greyhounds and he once lived with a Jack Russell, however he would be better off as the only dog in the house as he does like to be the star of the show and the center of attention! Max would thrive in a home with an active couple or a family with teenagers who can keep up with his energetic lifestyle, take him on plenty of walks and give him a few hats to try on! More than anything, Max would thrive in a home that can give him as much love and joyfulness as he gives out -- which is a whole lot. Max is an absolute sweetheart and would make for a wonderful companion and pet. Available for adoption through Greyhounds Only, Inc., Adoption and Rescue. Story
Jacy is a sweet 7 year old pit mix, possibly mixed with a type of sighthound like an Italian Greyhound. She is small and leggy, as she is only about 30 pounds. Jacy was adopted from us as a puppy, but after being found multiple times as a stray, the family decided they could no longer care for her and surrendered her. Jacy is not a dog that can be left unsupervised outside, as she gets nervous when she can't see her people and will climb fences. During the summer, Jacy had two instances where she lost control of her back end and was taken to our vet who examined her and did bloodwork. Her exam and bloodwork came back fine, so they believe it may have been focal seizures. They advised that if the seizures occur more often, she may need medication. She thankfully has been doing well and hasn't had another one since. Jacy loves her people and just wants to be with them. She loves to greet people and is always up for a walk with our volunteers and staff! Jacy is content when curled up in a dog bed with a toy or two while staff work in the kennels. Jacy doesn't seem to mind most of the small/medium sized dogs she's met here. Jacy is understandably, not a fan of shelter life due to her separation anxiety. We know she would much rather be able to spend her time close to the people she loves. We'd love to get Jacy back into a home where she can be more relaxed and be spoiled!
