Story
It is never an easy decision to rehome a beloved companion, especially after five years together. It sounds like you are prioritizing Hachi's well-being by ensuring he gets the stability he deserves despite your new travel schedule. Here are several options for Hachi’s bio, ranging from "quick facts" to a more "heartfelt narrative," depending on where you are posting: The "Gentle Giant" Highlight Hachi is a stunning, 7-year-old black Greyhound who proves that the best things in life come in large, 95 lb packages. Though he’s a big guy, he is a calm soul who truly lives for two things: a good hike and a very long nap. He is a master of the "Greyhound lean"—he absolutely loves being pet and will be your most devoted companion.

Story
Meet Harli & Bear – A Bonded Pair Looking for Their Second Chance Harli (black) and Bear (white) are two sweet 9-year-old pups who’ve known nothing but love—until recently. Their owner, who raised them since they were puppies, sadly passed away in March. Now, they’re in search for a loving home where they can spend their golden years together. These loving “young seniors” are truly a joy to be around. Bear is the playful one as he loves toys. He usually has one that he brings around in his mouth. On the other hand, Harli is a gentle teddy bear and not into toys. Both are affectionate, well-mannered, and get along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. Currently living with a foster who works from home, Harli and Bear are calm companions in the home office and love nothing more than your company. They love back rubs and to be brushed. They’re curious, easygoing, and will no doubt bring comfort, joy, and loyalty to the right home. These two can’t survive the stress of a shelter. They need a safe, loving environment where they can finally settle. If you or someone you know is open to fostering or adopting this bonded pair, please reach out. You could be the miracle they’ve been waiting for. Both dogs love to play - Harlie loves to cuddle and as you can see, Bear loves toys. Harli and Bear are extremely healthy and have a long life ahead. We feed raw and high grade foods which supports each dog's robust immune system. Please give us a call today and find out more about these two perfect doggies...and the Reunion Rescue/Animals First foster to adopt plan.

Story
04/09/26 Have you met Wiggles yet? You should! This sweet 6 year old is looking forward to his new life. Wiggles came to the shelter in January severely underweight but since he has been here he has gained over 10 pounds! He can be a little nervous at first but when he opens up he blossoms. Wiggles is always asking for attemtion from the people he knows and asks for pets. Wiggles has been experencing a lot of kennel stress from being at the shelter for so long and he needs someone who will give him some time to decompress in a new home. This sesetive soul just wants a home where he can be himself. Will you be the one to make Wiggles`s dreams come true? 05/05/26What I did today (4/29):Today Wiggles went on a 5-mile adventure at Hellyer Park, full of great sniffs and fun, goofy grass rolls! He was such a brave boy, brushing off a few barky dogs. Since our last walk, he’s feeling much more confident, taking treats gently and even “sitting” on command! What to know about this dog:• Great loose leash walker – kept a steady, calm pace, if he gets caught up in a “sniff” he is easy to redirect, also checks in with his human friends• Loves people – total lovebug, very affectionate and cuddly• Tail wagging commuter – loves car rides, easy to get in and out of the car, sits happily, ready for his next adventure• Not reactive to dogs or geese, he was curious about squirrels but had no desire to chase themThree words to describe me:Affectionate, Gentle, Companionable05/05/26What I did today (3/25):Today I went on a five and a half mile adventure at Hellyer Park, where I got A LOT of sniffs and rolled around on the grass! I was unfazed by bicyclists, groups of kids, geese, ducks, or dogs (including ones that barked at me), I just kept on walking. Also did amazing in the car, where I loved looking out the window, I would make a perfect road trip companion. What to know about this dog:• Great loose leash walker• Loves to give kisses and get belly rubs• Calm and easy going• Very well-behavedThree words to describe me:AffectionateGentleSweet02/24/26 14:45 MH Meet Wiggles, a sweet, bouncy, and affectionate pup who is ready for a loving home. When Wiggles first arrived at the shelter, he was underconditioned and severely underweight. Story
ADOPTED. Max is a delightful little guy whose goofy grin and wildly wagging tail get a smile from everyone he meets! He is housetrained and good with other dogs and cats who are tolerant of dogs. Max is about 1-1/2 to 2 years old and about 7 lbs. He is an affectionate, sweet boy. He has blossomed in foster care and has overcome most of his initial shyness at meeting new people. Max thrives in the company of other dogs. He has become play pals with a gentle Aussie and is currently in a foster home with two small dogs. Max has met several horses and was also good with them. He would also do well with younger children as long as they treated him gently. Max absolutely loves his walks! He becomes so excited when he knows that he is going for a walk that he dances on his hind legs (he does the same at mealtime!). He has boundless energy while on walks and is well-behaved on the leash. At home, Max is a calm and happy dog who loves to cuddle. He'll win your heart when he climbs into your lap and takes a nap while you watch TV. He does not seem interested in playing with toys. He does like to sleep with his person at night and sleeps through the night with no problem. Max would do best in a home with another dog (or dogs) or if his person were with him much of the time. He is a special little guy who deserves a stable and loving long-term home. Max’s adoption fee is $275. He is being fostered in Martinez, CA. Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received. Please contact us at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com for more information about this great guy or for an application to adopt.
