Story
Meet Keeva! Keeva is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).
“Fur-st Impressions” are very important! Schedule a meet and greet with Keeva before applying to see if she is the perfect fit for your family by emailing us at Fur-stImpressions@pathofhoperescue.com. A completed Adoption Application will be required after the meet and greet to move forward with Keeva’s adoption.
Born in March of 2021, beautiful Keeva has floppy ears, warm, chocolate brown eyes, and a soft tawny golden brown coat that turns into spots on her paws. An Australian cattle dog/German Shepherd/Newfoundland mix (according to DNA test results on her sibling), she is a trim, medium size adult dog. Keeva was originally adopted from Path of Hope Rescue as a puppy but was recently returned to us when her adopter found himself traveling more for work and unable to provide her with the attention and activity he felt she needed.
True to her cattle dog nature, Keeva relishes being active and spending time with people. She would run several miles a day in her previous home, and she loves outracing the resident border collie and husky (often to claim the comfiest dog bed!) in her foster home. Keeva fetches when she is in the mood, loves playing with her toys, and delights in being around people, including the young children in her previous family. She recognizes the authority of the top dog in her foster home and quickly settled into her role in the canine pack. Sweet and affectionate, Keeva knows how to enjoy her down time as well; a snuggler who loves to give kisses, she was cuddling up to the new people in her life immediately. After some play, her favorite thing is to settle in with her foster mom and share a warm blanket. Keeva believes it her duty to lavish you with kisses, and she’s learning about the concept of personal space (I mean, why wouldn’t someone want her right in their face?). Keeva has not been tested with cats, but we will update this when she has. Smart and eager to learn, Keeva is crate and potty trained and has attended basic obedience training.
Keeva’s ideal home? She would thrive in an active home and enjoy being your walking or running buddy. A soft blanket or comfy dog bed is a must, and children or dog siblings would be a plus but not a deal breaker. This funny, goofy, friendly girl is looking for someone to be hers; could it be you?

Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue
Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.
Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.
Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.
About Path of Hope Rescue
At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes.
We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment.
Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.
