Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Jenner (who also goes by Annie) came into rescue with her six puppies—her third litter in her short life. Before rescue, she lived outdoors, scavenging for food and likely enduring less-than-kind treatment. Now, she’s adjusting to life in a warm home with food always available. Despite her progress, Jenner still occasionally feels the urge to escape. She would thrive in a home with a six-foot fence or with someone who can supervise her outdoors. She has jumped the four-foot fence at her foster home but quickly returned when called, showcasing her strong recall. Jenner already knows "sit" and is learning not to jump on people, a behavior that has significantly improved in just two weeks. With more one-on-one attention as her puppies grow, this—and her counter-surfing habit—will likely continue to improve. Jenner is kennel trained, though her adjustment depends on her environment. At first, she resisted, then grew accustomed to it, and after moving the kennel, she resisted again before settling in. Now, she will willingly go into her kennel and lie down without being told. In a new home, she may take a day or so to acclimate, but once comfortable, she is quiet and content. Having her own space gives her a much-needed break from her puppies! While she has had limited interaction with the resident dog (who isn’t always welcoming to foster dogs), Jenner has been a delight during their encounters. She came from a yard with 15+ other dogs, so she’s no stranger to canine company. Jenner loves running and playing with her puppies in the yard and often gets the zoomies when her leash is released. Overall, Jenner is a sweet, friendly, and well-adjusted dog who would benefit from continued training and learning a few more manners. Give her a warm bed, some butt scratches, and a full bowl of food, and she’ll love you forever! Jenner is from the Anoka Impound.
