Adoption fee:  $643.75 for pups under a year, $592.25 for dogs over a year, unless stated otherwise.  A discount to $625 and $575 is given if paid in cash. Current Hours and VIP Donor (Effective 07/30/2024) Wednesday through Friday are open hours 11am to 5pm. Saturday open hours 10am to 4pm. Tuesdays are by APPOINTMENT ONLY. We are closed on Sunday and Monday. All surrenders are still by prior approval and appointment only. Even if you are only coming in to look during our open hours, you can still fill out our application prior to visiting. This will save time if you do decide to adopt. Preference on adopting a pet is given to our Shelter Supporters and VIP Donors . When animals arrive at the shelter, VIP donors will be emailed and given the first option to set up an appointment to view an animal of their choice. Click on the link above for full details. Please be patient, we are doing the best we can to handle the volume. Flavia is a one of a kind girl who can`t wait to be someone`s best friend. She loves to meet new people and show off her best butt wiggles. Flavia was potty trained and crate trained in her previous home, but she might need a reminder that jumping on people to say hello can be considered rude. Flavia has met lots of dogs while she`s been with us and seems like she would do just find with an easy going canine companion. Unfortunately, Flavia came to us with a large Mast Cell Tumor on her leg and despite removing it we were unable to get all of the cancer. Thankfully, it a low grade tumor that isn`t likely to spread quickly, but could reoccur. A good relationship with a vet will be important to keep an eye on the site and discuss options for continued care. Flavia is a sweet and silly girl and we`re very hopeful she has many happy years ahead of her!If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
