Story
Sparkles came into rescue with her littermates (b. Nov 2023) and they were all battling the deadly Parvovirus.  She has recovered and is now healthy!!  She is a Rottweiler/Pitbull Mix and such a sweet girl with a bright disposition.  She is smart and athletic with an abundance of energy.  Sparkles is a little shy in new or unfamiliar surroundings, but before long, she is all wiggles and wags.  She LOVES to snuggle!  She gets along with other dogs and with kids.  She would do well with an active family and other pets since she doesn't like being alone. The suggested adoption donation for Sparkles is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavi/oral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than six months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger, than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. ##1954394##

Story
Sebastian is a St. Bernard/Great Pyrynees mix, born November 2022.  Sebastian is an affectionate guy and loves to cuddle and give big hugs or kisses.  He loves belly rubs and if you're not paying him enough attention, he will give you the "Pyr Paw" until you acknowledge him.  He also won't mind if you scratch his ears or butt!  He is good at sitting, laying down on command and will get down off of something if he jumps up. Sebastian is mostly leash trained and knows how to 'sit' before you attach the leash or while waiting to go out the door.  He will benefit from some extra leash training and regular exercise with you.  He is usually calm and enjoys lounging with his people at home.  He also loves to have a routine and can get a little stressed with extra people or when things are different.  Sebastian is very food motivated and loves treats (don't we all?!).  He needs a fenced yard so he has a safe place to roam and explore.  He is mostly potty trained and will benefit from a refresher course in his new home. Sebastian is crate trained. although he will bark when the door is first closed.  He usually calms down after a minute or two.  If the door is left open, he will go in on his own when he wants to relax.  He is not destructive if left out of the crate when his people leave the house. The perfect home for Sebastian would be without kids or other pets.  Even better if you work from home because he loves being around his people.  He needs someone with lots of love and patience who can provide structure for him.  Sebastian is a great dog and will be a wonderful companion for someone!! True to his breeds, Sebastian is loyal and tends to be protective of his family.  Other common traits for a Saint Pyrenees include: Temperament:  Gentle, lovable, and intelligent.  Protective:  Loyal and will alert you to danger.  Easy to train:  Smart and learn quickly Affectionate:  Love to snuggle with family members. Exercise needs:  Need moderate exercise, such as daily walks or hikes. The suggested adoption donation for Sebastian is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.
