Story
How this pet arrived: Dodger was brought in by his previous owner on June 4, 2024. Why Dodger is the one for you:Meet Dodger! This adorable pup takes some time to warm up to new people and situations, but once he feels comfortable, his infectious smile is all yours! Dodger is an active boy and is looking for somebody to go on adventures with. He isn't the biggest fan of being left alone, and much prefers having someone around to keep him company. Dodger has a positive history with other dogs, but isn't a fan of sharing his food. This behavior is referred to as resource guarding and will need to be managed (feeding separated by a barrier, not leaving edible items out). This smart boy is bilingual, is crate trained, knows how to "sit" and would love to learn new tricks! Due to his "stranger danger," Dodger requires a patient family without young children (under 10). All household members must be present to meet this sweet boy. If you're ready to give Dodger the loving family he deserves, head over to our Oceanside campus today! Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 60.4 Age: 1yrs 10mths 1wks

Story
Sweet Edna is about 4 years old. When we rescued her we thought she was a senior because she was slow to move and had trouble getting up. Then our vet said she was only about 4 during her exam. We also realized her arthritis suddenly got better! About a month after rescuing her she had a very aggressive seizure. We took her to the ER , got her stabilized and she is now on seizure meds for Epilepsy. We then realized this was probably why her former owners dumped her and why she had separation anxiety😢 Despite everything she’s been through she is still the absolute sweetest girl ever. She gives bear hugs and nuzzles for kisses. She constantly wants to talk about all the love she has to give🥹 she is potty trained and great with other dogs. We want a family where someone is always around to be with her. Imagine how many times she had to go through this ALONE!💔💔💔No wonder she gets separation anxiety🥺 We also want to make sure if there is another dog in the home and she happens to have another seizure that they would not react or try to attack her to stop the chaos. Although she was able to walk on her own after the seizure subsided, She is a giant breed dog so if a situation like this were to come up again and she needs to be carried out into the car , she needs an adopter who has the capacity to help move her around. Although her seizures may be stabilized for a long time, potentially forever , this will always be an underlying medical issue and her future adopters MUST be ready and equipped to take on this financial undertaking as well. Her monthly expenses for food , supplements, medication etc will not be cheap. She is not spayed due to the seizures and we dont know if we will be able to spay her as anesthesia is very risky with her condition. All this being said , this girl is truly special. She is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever met and anyone who meets her instantly falls in love. Please reach out with any questions if interested in adopting this sweet girl.
