Story
We got him when he was 6 weeks old and we live in a trailer park thinking we could make sure he has a good life. But he is a big dog that needs lots of attention and outdoor play and that is something we unfortunately cannot give him. I am pregnant and already have 2 babies to take care of but he is so sweet and gentle with them he just requires a lot of attention that I cannot give him.

Story
Juno was born on December 4, 2023. We brought him home on February 19, 2024. He came from local farm and was raised around other farm animals. He has grown up with cats and a small mix breed dog. House broken, very loving, needs lots of attention. My family just does not have enough hours in the day for him. He is up-to-date on shots, micro-chipped and GPS fence trained. He has a lot of love and energy to share. He currently lives on 8 acres and is free to roam when we are home. He seems bored at times and I believe he would be happier on a farm where he would have goats or sheep to guard.

Story
At the time you are seeing this post, this dog is still available for adoption. But please know that we may be working on multiple applications already, and any one of them could be approved at any time. Please READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION and complete an adoption application, if you are interested in any of our animals. Application at www.greendogsunleashed.org If you send an inquiry to ask if the dog is still available, or just tell us you are interested, your inquiry will not be answered. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. We can do NOTHING without that. No, we cannot tell you if he would be a match for your family without seeing an application. PLEASE KEEP READING for info. */*/* PLEASE NOTE: The first communication you will receive after completing an application will be an email response, which will have instructions on how to proceed. Please check your inbox AND spam folders for the next 48 hours, for this email. We will not begin processing an application without the information requested in that email. */*/* We are happy to consider applicants from out of state on most dogs. Please read the description to see if this dog is an exception. If the applicant is approved to adopt, they MUST be willing to come to our location in Troy, VA, for a meet and greet. If all parties agree that the pup and family are a good fit, they would take the pup home at that time. For more information about our mission and for an APPLICATION for adoption, please go to www.greendogsunleashed.com. GDU does ask a minimum adoption fee of $400.00. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying, if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well. */*/* Young puppies will receive age-appropriate vaccines, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters may be required to provide additional puppy boosters and at 16 weeks of age, a rabies vaccine. Future annual vaccines, testing and monthly heartworm preventative are REQUIRED, and will be the financial responsibility of the adopter. *****Due to the sheer number of animals and applications in our program, coupled with a limited number of volunteers, applicants MUST have patience as we process applications.   If you do not hear back from us, the animal may have been adopted.   We strive to let people know but sadly cannot offer reasons for denial beyond that.  Any harassment of our volunteers will go unanswered and we will simply block you.   Our volunteers spend their time working hard to ensure the very best for each animal.   Please remember the animal, not the applicant, is our client.*****  ##2279705##

Story
If you are searching for a great family pet who has the most soulful brown eyes, look no further! This gentle sweet girl is the answer and her name is Glory. Glory adores and worships kids and wants nothing more than to be near them. Her best days are spent running along side them, sitting under their chair and laying next to them as they play. She is mellow, laid back and loves being at home with her people. Glory is potty trained, knows “sit, wait, potty and go in” (come inside or go into a room). Currently, she does not use a crate, but would  revert to it easily. She sleeps in a small room with a gate simply propped at the door. A harness is used when walking her and she needs to improve on not reacting to other dogs. Not one to play with toys much ( unless taunted by another dog to tug), she loves bones, treats and kongs. At times, Glory may try to leave the house without permission. Glory has lived in a house (and yard) with a variety of visiting dogs and a “ sister”. She has no experience with cats and the barking of small dogs makes her nervous. She should not be homed with small animals. If you are looking for your new best buddy, you have found her and she’s waiting to go home with you! Glory is up to date on vaccines, h2 negative and spayed. Apply at forrescue.net

Story
****CURRENTLY ENROLLED AND ATTENDING THE COFFEEWOOD CANINE TRAINING PROGRAM!!!!! This is our shy boy Duke, he is Daphne and Duchess's brother, 1 1/2 year old Pyrenees/Shepherd mix. Duke is having the hardest time with the surrender. he is a sweet boy that leans on you for his confidence. He is stressed which we completely understand as his "NORMAL" has been drastically changed. That being said, he LOVES people, he loves to go on walks even though he is not the greatest walker he enjoys the interaction. Once comfortable he is a big cuddle puppy! Duke will need time and patience while he settles into living as a spoiled indoor companion! He did previously live in an outdoor pen and he would benefit from having a canine friend in the home while he learns the ropes and finds his confidence. He has done well with the dogs he has met but like his sister's No cats may be best! He has lived around young children and he did well with them! Duke has been neutered, microchipped and Heartworm tested. We have updated all vaccines including rabies. He has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention.
