Story
Meet Layla, the reigning queen of relaxation! This sweet 60 pound, Aussie/Great Pry mix pretty girl loves to take it easy, whether it's lounging on the couch, basking in the sun, or snoozing her day away in her favorite spot.  At 6 years of age, Layla has made is known that she prefers a calm, peaceful environment where she can indulge in her love of napping without too much excitement.  She’ll happily keep you company during your quiet moments, and will always be up for a long walk or playtime with feline friends who are her favorite four-legged friends. Layla would do best in a home without young children or other dogs, as she loves her space and enjoys a slower, more serene pace of life. If you're seeking a loyal, affectionate companion who values comfort above all else, Layla is your perfect match.   This beauty is housebroken and loves to run around the yard with her people.  Years ago Layla decided that she wanted to be the only dog in her home and that is how she has lived and what we are seeking for her again.  She has been living as the only companion in the home until 3 years ago when the family started having children.  Now the young toddlers are having their normal growing up noises and activities create a less than calm environment for Layla.  Her family knows it will be best for Layla to find a new and quieter home without the toddler chaos.  Critter Cavalry Rescue knows that many dogs do not transition well with toddlers that enter the home after they were the only dogs early in life.  Layla is so loved and because of that her owners are admitting that she needs a new start that suits her laidback demeanor. Children over 10 years will be fine. This dog is good on leash walks but doesn’t need to be at dog parks where other dogs will not respect her “space”.  She is crate trained but honestly she does no damage if left loose during the day for many hours.  Layla does love cats and is a very loving girl that is beautiful and very smart.  She has so many years left to bring joy and companionship to someone that just wants her as the only dog and will treasure her as the special girl that she truly is. If you are interested in this girl please write to ccrtennessee@gmail.com She is ready for a new and fresh start.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 10, 2025, 10:20 pm

Story
This charismatic and beautiful young 1 year-old, 72 lbs Great Pyrenees girl is called Myra. Found in the Nashville Tennessee area as a stray this girl is now in New England area in a foster home.   We are looking for a mature and settled home that is quiet and will be a leader for Myra and help her to know that she must follow the rules of the household. This girl has a warm and uplifting smile and a huge desire to be petted and given attention. She is wonderful with other dogs and loves to play in a fenced yard.  She is housebroken and comfortable in a home.  We have key suggestions as to how to set boundaries for such a big girl when getting acclimated to a new environment and family. Story
Meet Snowflake !! This big beautiful puppy is looking for a great home. She has made so much progress in her foster home and is the sweetest thing ever. We saved Snowflake and her sister (and their mom) only a few hours before the first snowstorm hit us. They were living outside in a pen with minimal protection from the elements. They are doing really well learning to live inside and enjoy life as real dogs. (Mom is named Blizzard she is posted separately) Snowflake is a female and is approx 5 months old. She weighs 45 pounds. They appear to be hound and Great Pyrenees based off their size and mom’s looks. She will likely be larger dogs. Her mom is 70 pounds and dad is unknown. She will be spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines as part of her adoption. Although she started her life outside in a pen she has really done a great job learning indoor house manners. She really enjoys life as part of a family instead of being outside. She has come so far and does so well now. Snowflake is a very sweet girl and extremely affectionate. She’s smart and has been learning things quickly. She loves to cuddle up with you on the couch or go outside and play. She has done fantastic with other dogs and kids. She likes to have another dog around to help adjust but doesn’t have to have one. She is fostered with kids and has done really well. She has not been fostered with cats so we are not sure how she would do. Snowflake has not had any trouble sharing food, treats or toys with other dogs or humans. She is not completely potty trained but is learning. She has started crate training and can be a bit vocal in there as she prefers to be out with her people. She has done fine on car rides. She is definitely new to leash walking. She was terrified of the leash when she arrived but is starting to learn how it works now. We expect her to be a big and strong dog that will be fairly energetic. Please be prepared to exercise each and every day so she does not become pent up and display negative behaviors. Training well and often is very important so you don’t end up with a large dog you can’t control. Pyrenees and hounds are both known for escaping yards. They go over and under fences with a tendency to roam. You will need to supervise them when they are outside. If left alone outside you are asking for them to find a way out. So far snowflake has not tried to leave the yard but it’s possible she will at some point. These breeds are also well known for being loyal and loving family dogs. Adopting a young puppy is a ton of work. They will have lots of potty accidents, chew things up etc. You will need to help them learn things like leash walking, crate training and basic manners. It can be a lot of work but the reward is a dog that fits well into your family’s lifestyle if you invest proper time on training with them. Please carefully consider the time and effort a puppy requires before adopting. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com or for faster response message our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application.‼️

Story
Meet Blizzard !! We recently took in this sweet girl and her two puppies. They were living outside in a pen with a large snowstorm coming in. Thankfully we were able to get them all here and they are so grateful for indoor life. (Her puppies Snowflake and Icicle are posted separately) Blizzard is approx 2 years old female. She appears to be a Hound Pyrenees mix. She weighs 74 pounds. She has been given several sets of vaccines, dewormed, a microchip and spayed. She is sadly heartworm positive but her treatment is included in her adoption. Blizzard initially had no idea how to be inside but she’s learned so quickly. She’s really doing well and has exceeded our expectations. She is not fully potty trained but has already started going to the door to alert she needs to go out. She is good with crate training but isn’t the biggest fan of it. She can be vocal in protest. She was nervous on her car ride but didn’t do to bad. She doing really well with her leash training so far. Blizzard is fine with other dogs but mostly ignores them. She’s good with it without another dog in the home. We don’t know how she would do with cats. She’s been good with all the kids she’s met so far. She so far has a lower energy level but that will likely increase as she becomes more settled and confident with indoor life. So far she doesn’t seem to understand toys. She gathers sticks to chew on instead. She was probably never provided with toys before. Blizzard will jump a short fence. She will either need a 6ft fence or have someone dedicated to exercising and potting on leash. Having a safe place for her to run would be ideal. She has not had any trouble sharing food, treats and toys with humans or other dogs. This sweet and beautiful girl hasn’t had a real life so far but she’s ready to have that now. If you’re willing to put a little more work and training into her she’s going to be an amazing dog for you. Vet and home checks required. Can jump short fences. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com directly or for faster results message our facebook page with questions or to get an application‼️
