Story
When HART first rescued Newton, this gorgeous boy was very shy. Since being in a loving foster home, he has shown significant improvement! He is less shy when meeting new people, and after proper introduction, he seeks out chin scratches and belly rubs. Newton has enjoyed running in the backyard, chasing a ball, and he will certainly need a secure, fenced yard to safely explore and get his zoomies. Newton is house trained, sleeps well at night in his kennel, does not have separation anxiety, occasionally barks but settles down, takes treats gently, and knows basic commands to include 'sit', 'stay', 'wait' and knows to wait for 'yes' and 'OK' before proceeding. He walks well on a leash particularly in the neighborhood and on trails but needs additional training to prevent occasional pulling. He sheds his gorgeous coat once a year and fortunately loves to be brushed with a wire brush to keep it under control. He gets along well with other dogs after a proper introduction and would benefit from having another confident dog in the home. Newton is not at all aggressive and responds to scary or new situations by backing away so he can get comfortable on his own terms. As he continues to overcome his shyness, he has shown that he is eager to explore, have new experiences, and meet new people. Newton is looking for a family that will continue with his training and socialization to ensure he will reach his potential. Inquire about meeting Newton because it will be love at first sight! Story
Rey came to my life when he was 8 weeks old he is now 3 years old. He is a very loving dog loves to play outside. He is very good with kid and other dogs. Unfortunately I will be moving to an apartment and he will not have enough space to run and play. I am very sad but hoping he will find someone who will give him all the love he needs and deserve ☹️

Story
We adopted Jack from a rescue in South Carolina. Unfortunately, he has not been able to get along with our family dogs despite efforts. He is very loving, likes attention and petting. He would be a great animal if he was the only pup in the house. Jack does resource guard as well to food and whatever he feels is his. This is to only other dogs, not humans. Jack is great with adults and kids. No aggressive behavior witnessed since having him. Jack came to us with heartworm and has been receiving medication. He is neutered and fully vaccinated.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/wally2021/ Hi - Wally is my name! I am a beautiful boy as you can clearly see! As a Great Pyrenees mix I have a beautiful, soft coat and sweet eyes. I am also a dog that needs some space and I love to have room to roam outside. I did not come to FOHA with a lot of information, but they think that I may not have lived much time in a home. Some of the things in the home can scare me like the TV. So I will need to be in a home with no kids because the activity may be too much. I should also not be on a farm with small livestock. I would like a yard and outside space to explore. Apartment and condo living is not a good fit for me. I would do well with a family with Great Pyrenees experience who understands the ins and outs of my breed. I can use some training to help me be the best me! If this sounds like you, please submit an application and my friends at FOHA will schedule a time for us to meet! See you soon!! Story
I'm Riggs, a fluffy Great Pyrenees mix with a heart full of love and a natural instinct to protect the ones I call family. I’ve lived with children and dogs before and done well with both. However, I might thrive best as the only dog in my forever home because, when I bond with another dog, I tend to want to protect them from others I don’t know. It’s just part of who I am—true to my Pyrenees roots, I’m a loyal guardian for those I care about. I’m a smart boy who knows sit, stay, paw, kennel, and down, and I love learning because treats are the best! Walks, running outside, and playing fetch are some of my favorite activities, especially when there’s a ball involved. I also take treats super gently, earning me the title of “gentleman treat-taker.” Because of my protective instincts and independent nature, I’ll need a home with someone experienced with Great Pyrenees or similar breeds. You’ll understand how much I thrive with clear boundaries, patient guidance, and a family I can look out for. If you’re ready for a loyal companion who will love you with all his heart, let’s make memories together!
