Story
Charlie is a 4-year-old neutered Great Pyrenees male and weighs about 95 pounds. Charlie is up to date on all his vaccines, regularly takes heartworm and flea/tick preventative medication, and recently received a clean bill of health from his vet. Charlie is a curious creature and loves people, including kids and the elderly. He gets along well with small dogs and female dogs. He will do best in a home without another adult male dog. He has shown some leash reactivity, but only around large male dogs & unfixed males. He takes treats gently, has no food aggression, and knows some tricks: he can sit, shake, jump up, go to his crate, and high five. He is also an excellent travel companion and does very well in a car and in hotels. He loves sand on the beach and snow during the winter. Most of the time, he can be found curling up on the couch or his dog bed snoozing.

Story
Odin is a truly handsome, young, 88 pound, Great Pyr boy that was born 1/2/23 and is looking for a family to love and chill with.  This big boy is fully grown and is the so very easy going and good natured.  He was raised with his brother Thor on a country property owned by a senior lady who has come to realize that both the brothers need homes where they can be an inside dog and part of the family.  She cannot provide that and so is now willing to let each one go to separate families that might have children (he loves children) and to be a part of maybe even living with other dogs or cats.  He is good with everyone he meets and all creatures.  This boy is not housebroken as he has never been inside for any length of time to learn the rules and the signals for potty breaks.  He is a loving and easy dog to have around and we want him to become a part of a family life that offers him a big dog bed and lots of love and guidance.  He is good with meeting new people and doesn’t bark excessively at all.  He will bark if he is bored outside in a pen.  He plays nicely and is fun and happy.  If you are interested in this one year old handsome boy please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and let us know where you live:  city and state and let’s start a conversation about him possibly becoming a part of a special family lifestyle.   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.           PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 16, 2024, 10:05 pm

Story
Meet Simba. Simba was dumped in our neighborhood which is very rural. We first noticed him when he walked up the driveway one morning. As soon as we headed towards him, he ran away. Poor thing was scared out of his mind and very confused. He had just been dumped by his family and he had no idea where he was. We set up our biggest live trap and then we waited. The first night, we caught the neighbor's cat. The second night we caught a gorgeous red fox. Third night was a charm, there he was bright and early in the morning. He did NOT want to come out of the cage so we had to lift the cage and bring into the back yard. Took him a while but he eventually came out. The first thing he did as we approached him was roll over on his back! To this day, as soon as anybody goes to him, boom, on his back he goes! He is such a gentle giant, tolerates anybody and anything, including our crazy Chihuahuas who chase him all the time! We had no idea what his breed mix was so we did a DNA on him. Pyrenees is the predominant breed but he also has Bulldog, Golden, Lab and even 5% Chihuahua if you can believe that! He is neutered, heat worm negative, fully vaccinated and ready for transport. Simba is truly a gem! ADOPTION FEE $500

Story
It is Real everyone!   The puppies being born that don’t have a place in life is very real!!!   These 11 Great Pyrenees puppies need our help and Critter Cavalry Rescue has stepped up to help them find a good place to land for their future safety and well being.  There used to be 31 of these Puppies who were born to 3 momma dogs that were not fixed.  Livestock guardian Great Pyrs who were  NOT spayed and all had pups within Weeks of each other.  The local animal shelter was called about the dire situation and gave a deadline to remove them from the property or they Would return to euthanize as a solution.  The shelter would not take them due to overcrowding.  So… a concerned man who knew the senior Farmer, started taking puppies to Tractor Supply and other places to try and get them homes so they would not be destroyed by animal control. He found homes for 20.  Now there are just 11 left and he discovered that if he made phone calls to rescues, maybe someone would help.  That is What Critter Cavalry Rescue is doing NOW.  But we need help to break these pups up and put in to foster homes or forever families as soon  as Possible.  They are all living right now in a small backyard and it is really crowded.  They are getting their vaccines and wormings and over the next Few weeks they will be spayed and neutered.  If you are in the Nashville, TN or close, please help us with fostering.  If you are in the northeast, we can use your help too.   EMAIL US:  ccrtennessee@gmail.com    If you cannot adopt or foster, we could certainly  use donations of food or funds for making sure their vetting is done soon.  We are spaying the moms ASAP and looking for homes for them too.  They are only 1 year old and have been great goat guardians on the acreage they have lived on.  Desperate Times…..Desperate Need to help them.  They are loving and shy as the breed typically is. They just need some personal one on one hugs.   NOW.

Story
This handsome boy is called Shiloh and he is a Great Pyrenees puppy born April 30th and currently as of September 10th, weighs 35 lbs.   This boy was born on a 150 acre property where there were guardian dogs left to Rome and protect goats but also left unspayed and unneutered. Soon there were more puppies than you could even imagine roaming the property. Critter cavalry was called in to help find homes for these puppies. We are also currently getting moms and dads spayed and neutered as well. Shiloh is being fostered now in a family with children and two other Great Pyrenees mix dogs. He is learning the ropes of indoor house manners and potty training and crate training. He also is doing pretty well on a leash to have not had any experience with that up until now.  This handsome boy is soft and sweet and easygoing but will grow to be a 80 lb boy at least. He will need a large fenced-in secured yard. He is not an apartment or condo type of dog. The nature of the Great Pyrenees should be within the knowledge of any adopters. He would do well with another dog in the home. He will be a peaceful dog but yet still have some traits that are dominant in the Great Pyrenees breed.  He has the sweetest most wonderful smile and beautiful soft dark eyes. To see his tail wagging at the foster parents in their children is just a remarkable thing. He is ready now to go to his forever home that has a fence yard, another dog, and the desire to be raising a large breed dog that needs some good training daily. Please write to us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 16, 2024, 10:05 pm

We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
